Dear shanvy,
absolutely right..good understanding and love are the mainstay of a couple. i have seen an aged couple in adyar regularly when i go for a walk. the wife is mentally ill and she never co-operates wit her husband. she is like a child. but the husband is very very patient and he holds her hand like a child he takes her a walk everyday. never misses even a single day. he must be 70+ . even at this age..he cares his who is sick and like a child. i alwasy admire this couple andHats off to them..what a love! understanding! amazing!

love
geeth

Shanthi, that was a touching piece. In these days of not so much of a conservative society it is surprising to see people divorcing for petty reasons. And hats off to the couple whose love can only be termed 'Divine'. Thanks for sharing.
Regards,
Malathi

Dear Shanthi,
Your thread made me think about my husband's cousin, who looked after his mentally deranged wife until his death. After the birth of the fifth child she became like that. My hubby's cousin took care of the children and brought them up in a nice way. There are both kinds of people in this world. But it was really pathetic to think about Radha's husband. Perhaps he might have been under pressure.
Love,
PS

Priya,

Thanks dear. Will continue in the songs thread after landing in Chennai. So how is singing and teaching coming.

Radha’s case is a typical common in our society. I know of some who are very highly educated ladies, and still thinking in the same way. I think you need to be brave for yourself, only then you can tackle people like Radha’s husband.

Accepting a loved one as he/she is the greatest gift you can give them

Sunkan,

Thank you. Will look at the poems sure. having a great blast I suppose. You are right about luck in marriage and life in total.

Life does goes on as it comes, but whether you make it better, happier heaven or a sad /worse hell is your take on it. That is the basic reality. Thanks for stepping in.

SS,

Thank you for stepping in, with your views.

I believe that you can learn a lot from people around us, and this particular observation I definitely wanted to share with others here.

there are many of us here who think that only woman do everything for the better half. Even my FIL took care of my bedridden MIL for almost a year. So there are examples.

Though there are more common situations of the wife taking care of the husband, I know one particular case at a close quarter, were the husband had an accident and has just come out of coma, but is stil dependent, the wife will not even help him, for the nature call, if the nurse/aid is not at call at that particular moment.

Whether it is the wife/husband, it takes lot of patience and courage to take care of the loved one without any prejudices or conditions.

Being a good human being is the first thing that we need to be. I tell my children, more than being engineers/doctors I would like to see you both as good human beings, the rest will chart a course itself.

Dear MK,

First a great round of cheers to your family for adopting a great baby. I think you people are now given abundant happiness through the bundle of joy you brought home.

Nice to know about some of these rare couples. Thanks for sharing them with us. Really they teach us what love is all about.

Love is beyond physical disabilities. Love is God. I think divinity is what is seen in these couples.

Geeth,

Thanks for stepping in. Love makes the world go round. I really salute the old man. I am sure it should be tasking sometimes., when the wife, is not cooperating or understanding.

Thanks for sharing.
