Dear Oviya,

Thanks for joining me here. Moms advices are truly golden and we must treasure them for a lifetime! Infact atleast where my Mother is concerned , I admire the way she has gone ahead to resurrect her life , with her limited knowledge. Though she didnt have any knowledge about business, she went ahead and ran my Fathers business very successfully. She has not been educated beyond 10th std, but she can give any MBA a run for their money. Her Never say Die attitude is very inspiring to say the least!

Wish you a very Happy Mothers Day!!
Love,
Devika

She started her advices with a golden one. That's the reality. It feels so good to read about great people. Thanks for giving one such opportunity to read about your mom.

That was really touching.....it must have been so hard for you all after ur dad's passing away,....that too ur mom so young.......i still can visualise ur mom the way u described with long hair and flowers and red bindi! I can understand all this since my dad passed away last year, and we told my mom not to get into all these rituals. She is 64 and my dad was 74 so its still okay....but its so sad for ur mom, at such an young age.....and that too when she can think of advising you all.....what strength and she is truly inspiring.....
Wish her Happy Mother's day on my behalf!

Dear Devika,

A nice piece of writing. A perfect tribute to all Mothers. Without a life partner at a very young age is so difficult but even in that crisis your mother stood up as a strong lady in advising you and carrying on with life. Hats off to your mom, she is really very strong. Seeing so many tributes on Mother's day it has reinforced my thinking Women are the strongest of the sexes.

A Happy Mothers Day to you and your mom.

Dear Soumya,

Thanks a ton yaar for the sweet FB. I am so thrilled to read it!
Absolutely right I told my Mother too, Look the society is not going to partake your sorrows ,so you do not have to live for them. you live for yourself and us . And though it was difficult the bindi finally found the place on her forehead!

Thanks for the wishes!!:))

Love,
Devika

Very evocative post. Your mother seems to be unshakeable and able to maintain her composure in the face of a crisis.

The advice that stemmed from her rings so true, and that was a very touching gesture on your part, to reinstate the bindi on her forehead! As you said, that's how every husband would like to see his wife. It's only society that wants to see your sorrow.

Happy mothers day - you have made your mother proud!

Best Regards,

Sowmya

Hi Devika,

A to your Mom and for your write up.

Mothers are indeed such special people in our lives. I liked the lesson you mom told you.."never tell your troubles to others, no one is interested" this is true.

And as a good daughter, you have done a great deed by letting her have her sindhoor...nothing can give a lady more charm than the sindoor. I am sure she must be a proud Mom who has such a wonderful and thoughtful daughter.

Happy Mothers Day

Regards
Poornima.

hello devika

happy mothers day...
to your dear mom..

mom mine yours
his or hers
are sure moms...
they are ready to sacrifice
their beauty all in the name of
tradition...
my mom doesnt wear a bhindi
but wears her ear rings and nosering
thats no no too...
what we kids wanted her to continue
wearing
as a mom without all those
personal belongings
looks someone far far away...
now that papa is no more
why should mama too
look the same any more...
may not be the same words
and yet all moms have
words of wisdom...
that sure was a swell way
to wish your dear mom
happy mother's day..

sathya
