Default Re: Prez Bush indian middle class & food

Dear Jaishri ,
Quote:
I dont think he has 'blamed' Indians as much as recognised the power of India in the new world economy. Finally India has become prosperous enough for its actions to affect the world ! Until now inspite of having the worlds largest population (or the second largest until a year ago) India's consumption of food or oil was so low that it was not noticeable ! Now our prosperity has made the world sit up and take notice
As Santosh has said, I too feel Bush (for once) has not accused India or China for the food shortage. He meant to be praising them instead in the sense that our economy was improving and they would be the beneficiaries directly or indirectly! And as usual our politicians, especially the reds, who wait for an opportunity to pounce on Bush and the Americans whenever there is the slightest sign of lip movement from the other end took it as an accusing statement and the 4th estate followed suit to appease the Babus as per their loyalties and the story ended up this way!
You should come down to Tamil Nadu to see how beautifully our ministers are explaining about the price rise! Unfortunately, these people belong to our own clan and we have to listen to all their nonsense tongue-tied!
But for your misconstrued opinion about Bush's remarks( which of course were from what most of the media reported), the rest of your concern about wastage shows your concern for the poor and also for our country. It would make most of us feel guilty since, in some way or other we are all responsible for this wastage in some way or other. It has certainly shaken our conscience.
Regards,
Malathi

Hello Lalita
thankx for appreciating it. it was just the feeling which Bush`s remark awoke that only I tried to pen down. Thanyou for liking it.

Yes On our level we shud try to prevent wastage of food in our homes. The leftovers may fill some needy persons hunger. Better to be used by somebody than to throw it.
We also shud teach younger ones the importance of not wasting food & u are doing it. Thanks dear.

hello Malthi
Thankyou for ur reply.
Actually it is true that what we come to know is by media only.

But this is true that America look to other countries in form of their market only & what it cud get in return. The whole of Iraq dispute was due to oil u wud agree.

Only this week Myanmer has been rocked by such a tornedo & loss of life but becoz it produces nothing of intrest to America where was its humanitarin face.

About ministers I agree that they are all the same in all states wheather TN or Rajasthan.

The main point was ofcourse tht we indians also waste hownmuch amount of food & there are many poor people who sleeps on empty stomach.

If we have to be self suffcinet in food & agriculture we shud also stop wastage of food ,that was the point of my feelings.
Regards.
