Hi Maam,
I am not able to say anything as I am in tears....
What a wonderful AMMA!!
Even after so much insults, she is praying for good health of her son and son's family.

Regards.

Dear Mam,

You have written so wonderfully the plight of a mother. Nice piece and I felt a heavy lump in my throat after reading it.

Dear Mithila Ma'am,

Wonderful story. Excellent write-up to bring out a poignant theme. The poor mother looking on from her photograph on the wall...makes me sad...

My maternal grandmother just passed away yesterday, all of a sudden. She was such a simple, selfless soul...never offering any opinion, only smiling all the time....

She led a hard life, looking after her in-laws, bringing up her brothers-in-law who were much younger...and finally when everyone was settled, arthritis had set in and didn't allow her to enjoy her twilight years in peace...

Your story made me recall all those little things....thanks!

Best Regards,

Sowmya

dearest mithila mam,

as usual a truly superb narration with a message...very touching...and very true too....i do know of cases where the parents have been ignored during their old age but shradhams celebrated with great devotion...do they not have a conscience,i wonder....but u have brought that out so beautifully....The amma who can never think bad for her son and the selfish son....

Mother is such a wonderful person. They say God cannot be in all the places thatswhy created moms.its true! Theres a story of a Mother in which the son is in love with a girl. She asks him to bring his mothers heart to show his love. The stupid fellow does that. When he walks out he was stricken by a stone and about to fall. That time he hears a feeble voice saying "Be careful, My son"!! noneother than mom.Like that mothers are all like that whatever insult they r facing still they love their children.

Dear Mithila,

Its touching. I feel very sad at the mother's pains and plight when she is alive. But a mother is always a mother. Even after the insults by the kids only a mother can bless the kids.

All children should realise the love of the mothers and try to understand the feelings of the mothers atleast to some extent.

Lakshmi.

Dear Mythili maam,
My heart feels heavy after reading this....
True, still in some families , they are very stingy towards the needs of their own elders.
But, post-life , they are ready to do anything & everything that the shasthram defines,
so that they will not earn the wrath of the dead person & ultimately their family would live in peace...
I should definetly mention that you have wonderfully brought out the true feelings right from the lady's point of view.
