Default A mere thought that I am good is not good.....

Dear Ilites,

This thread is out of Sundarusha's thread on thoughts.

How true! We need to manage our thoughts. Though we cannot change ourselves abruptly, but can gradually.

Even a mere thought that "I am doing good only" is not good. In that way we exhibit our pride of being "good".

We tend to get angry with people who is bad and might even abuse them that "These people will never change". My humble opinion is that we need not have to say that too.

We only need to set an example for them. It is up to them to realize and fall in line with people of good thoughts.

This is again a "Sadhana". Good thoughts can be obtained only through devotion.

This was my today's quotation from Sai Inspires.

Is being devoted a sign of cowardness at present times?

Devotion is no sign of weakness; it is a sign of courage, of wisdom, of discrimination; it alone can give soukyam and shaanthi (happines and peace). Every one has one day or other to fall in line with you, for every one is terribly anxious to get these two. They try, in their ignorance or excitement, various other remedies, but this remedy alone can cure them.

See Good. Do Good. Be Good.

Hi Vanaja,
I completely agree with you. When we start telling others their faults, their ego comes into picture and people will become more adament in not changing.
Its always better do and be what we want in others to be changed. We have no control over others, we have control only on ourselves.

If we become an example, they will follow.

Good thoughts. Thank you.

Dear Vanaja,

I too completely agree with you.

When we can’t change ourselves then how can we expect others to change? First we have to find our own faults and try to rectify them and change our attitude towards ourselves and then towards the outer world. Just like we clean up our homes periodically, we have to retrospect ourselves in regular intervals to purify our inner selves. Only through devotion and practice we can achieve perfection.

Thanks for such a nice thread.

Cheers,
Lakshmi.
