Hi,
These kind of incidents happen very often these days.
Its all because of some unsculpturous people, that everyone are suffering.
i've also have also heard that the sikh people are also mistaken to be muslims, they too are penalised for no fault of theirs....
We have very good muslim friends, who are very devoted & religious people.
To the extent, whenever they buy a new car (very rich people) , they drive to tirupathi, take it around the temple prakaram & come back home!!!

Unhappy Re: unable to digest

Hi Vivbass,

Glad to hear that you didn't buy the flat. Being a muslim its really painful for me to see such discrimination. But then I get some comfort to hear that it appalls others as much as it does me. Thanx for the post..

Question Re: unable to digest

There is no point in becoming emotional. Bitter experiences make people react in a particular fashion. By chance if the person/s occupying the falt is an anti- social element/s then the implications will be beyond words.
Nodubt it can happen from the Hindu community also. A Tamilian asking for a flat could be with a LTTE background. Take Sivarasan case. But I don't know whether the family was in connivance to the conspiracy.

But let me cite an incident. My next door neighbour is a Muslim from Mumbai. That family has the audacity to slaughter an animal during one of their festivals inside the flat. I pleaded with them to stop this. We can hear the bleating of the animal a day before the sacrifice. Normally all muslims have this practice but they get it in meat form to thier houses.

It is an offence to do such an act. But we are only husband and wife staying alone in our flat. Other Hindus are not affected or they don't stay there as they have bought flats for the sake of investment. Flats remain locked except for few days during holidays trips. We are left alone to suffer the consequence. In a way we are silenced.
I don't mind taking the initiative but my spouse discourages me from informing the authorities concerned. A time may come when I would definitely react.
Tell me do you still feel the same way- that a community is geting marginalised! The statement there are good and bad elements cannot be digested by me.
In India majority is penalised.
Iam not talking any Hindutva. Our politicians are crooks of the first order. They promote all anti social activities. kanaka

Hi Vivbass,

Very sorry to hear about the incident. I really feel that thuugh we claim to be a secular country there still is a lot of discrimination on the basis of caste, religion language, colour etc. Its a very sorry state . Not much can be done about it until a person voluntarily accepts people from other religion, no screaming from rooftops or creating awareness really helps. We still say a lot about the feeling of Bhai Chara and brotherhood but to a great extent this is all still hypocritical. Recently we experienced somethings very similar in Mumbai. Ostracising and discriminating will only add more fuel to the already existing towering inferno. It is also good to see Vivbass that you felt for your Muslim brothers though you are not one. Atleast this is a great contentment.

Also very sorry about the flat .Wish the owner had been more lenient .!

Love,
Devika

HI Vivbass,

You must have been shocked by this incident. Vivbass this has been going on for a long time.In certain areas in Mumbai & other cities, house value depend on the type of "Majority community" living in that area. I do not support this type of "Ghetto-Mentality" .

This should be discouraged by members of all religions.

Good on you for not encouraging that builder.

This is not something that is unique to India only.

Overseas, certain areas are marked as Whites only. God help you if you are a Non-Caucasian. You can never hope to get a foot hold in there.

Hope you got a better flat.

Regards,

Corallux
