Dear prana,
Thanks for ur valuable feedback.Yes dear,we live in a city of apartments. My mother used to say that neither adjacent sides nor the top and bottom portion are owned by us.Only the four walls is our share in the apartment. Now a days even separate houses are built in such a way that they are kept isolated .U are right,in olden days there is a thinnai where neighbours used to have a get together and speak with out any ego ,reservations in their mind.
Thanks once again.Your points are really thought provoking...

I don’t know whether it is a myth or a truth that people of today ( we exactly) are loosing interest in enjoying life. But still I observe that a person ‘s enthusiasm, interest ,humour are suppressing as age and experience rolls on.Is it true?I cannot totally deny the fact because it seems to be true in some or few cases. There can be many reasons which are justifiable such as
health, stress, dissatisfactions and disappointments in life, the death of a loved one, broken relationships, facing difficulties in working environment etc.

Likewise due to various situations in a period of time makes us unaware of our favourable aspects in life. For instance before four or five years when I am in college I can find the extreme joy in me when I am wearing a new dress or going for an outing or a shopping. No such excitements now.Though I agree those things are age related pleasures and interests but there are people who wants to pursue a degree even in their fifties or more. The statement “Age is not a barrier for anything”is well said by learned people .The problem is not the age but our interest and approach towards life.

So friends there may be many such incidents which may be interesting in your life and which vanished in due course .So to rewind your old memories , share your flash back stories here.

Share your incidents which was interesting before and which is dropping down now.So friends tune your mind to Vividh Barathi(a famous radio channel once upon a time)and keep going.
Yes,
Age has got nothing to do in not only enjoying the simple pleasures of life, but one may also achieve great successes.

Dear mithila kannan,
Thanks for stepping in.Definitely age is only a number. We put the blame on it.We should have interest towards life.

Bhargavi,

Those days I used to have a lot of free times ( doing nothing, of course) now I don't, even I wish I had to squeeze the time available.....but to some extent manages the time...

those innocent days are gone....now labelled as 'matured'----don't know whether it is due to age or look.....

I enjoyed reading a lot...nowadays, if that happens....sleep also steps in....

I used to have fun with cousins and friends...but nowadays it has changed and we exchange our fun through e-mail and what not through friendship platform like IL....

dear bhargavi my here,

in those days let us take the idli atta while we grind on the stone we had someone to chat with and this way the interactions were more,so u unburden urself .
take the time that we had no tv only music by a transister that too only what they feel is good so sometime we leave that and go play a pallangkuzhi or adu puli attam still more bonding with flower tying and so many things.
we never had avenues to explore the way we do now, if i had a magic computer then defenitely i would be exposed to so many things happening and will not have time for anyone and how to bring our lifestyle to that level of what we see.
in those days i remember going to some ramanavami kutcheri in sesashdripuram park with my mother and mama but then the exposure limited i dont think they charged too as we were spread out on the park on the ground and sometime children were playing catching around but not making noise.the crowd was paltry.so it was a lot more smoother.

no hurry bury to make a home, those days, panam irundaal vazhkai, now they tempt u with a credit card a bomb people should refrain from it is easy money but then the after math if something goes wrong is hell, so many tensions follow with all these, in those days buying a house means u make the way and have it only then u buy the house now u take a loan and lo grihapravesam ready and every time the loan come up.

none should fall sick in the house as the hospital charges are too high that is also available as compensation from the company but then the payment one is stuck with so as time moves we are moving and all these are the after math of the yugam that we are crossing following with stress all the time, quick money and quick achievement are the base for all these diseases, a father took so many years to do things the son wants to always out beat, so the disease that the father never had the son has...sunkan

Really we are managing time some how.Our childhood days are innocent ,but now as u cited for all happenings we say it is due to age and experience, maturity and so on.
Definitely IL is a platform for friends because we atleast discuss now and express our feelings which makes us feel happy .

Thanks again srini

Sunkan mam, there can be interest and thrill only when there is a scarcity. When I am in nineth or tenth standard don’t know exactly,Cable channels like SUN tv were introduced. Before that time we used to wait for weekly programmes like “metro hour”,Dubbed serials like JUnoon,KANNON etc.But now there are myriad of tv channels, programmes making us lose interest and boring. There are a lot of interesting things like the ones you mentioned,I definitely know they may be of great joy because I have heard those from my mother.yes u are right in olden days the crowd is less and mainly no complaints of pollution. It is nice that u have recalled your visits to ramanavami kutcheri.

Wonderfully conveyed the message!!!!!.We live in a world of credit cards and apartments. At the time of buying, credit card makes the job easier and as u said hell a lot of tensions follow.

Definitely my father never heard of any loans while he was purchasing our house but now as u said we don’t make our way, housing finance and loans decides our grahaparvesam .

Superb and well said.Oh my god,in this fast paced world of obesity, junk foods diseases come soon with out invited. So one has to assume that he will be hospitalized and think of the huge money spent in hospital and accordingly run after health insurance schemes.Easy money, easy achievement of the need of the hour are what we see which elders are not aware and as going in tune with ur super one shot statement that elders are not also aware of the ailments caused by stress and mental imbalance of these quick achievements ..

Thanks a ton.Your feedback is mind blowing....

please don't thinkthis kanaka wants to refute anything and everything. When I say or do something I want to be true to my conscience.

Off late I like to dress up but not gaudy style. Elegant which may suit my age. Till my daughter was married I was totally focussed on her academics, character building and llife building parametres.

She is married and so far things are going well. Now I think of looking after my appearance(to suit my age).

But I always had a craze for studying something. I keep learning. Iam 57. Within a period of 15 years I completed 2 PG'S. Now I want to study 'Digitalistion'. Learning and debates keeps me cheerful.

Will u mind reading my posts under"Marriage this Way" and comment.

I also enjoy listening to old Tamil songs in All India Radio Chennai broadcst from 10pm.kanaka

Dear kanaka mam,
You are free to express anything and give any feedback which is most invited .Only then the thread goes interesting.Definitely mam, taste and interests changes with requirements over a period of time as u are busily focusing on ur daughter which is the need of the hour.
Dressing up well and focusing on elegant look is an art which u have built up.So as of now ur interest gets diverted here.As I said there are very few people in their fifties who pursue a degree .It is great that u keep u our interests till now and u have obtained two degrees. My heart felt appreciations to your continued efforts .I too enjoy listening to music.

Definitely I feel honoured to take part in your thread “Marriage this way”.I will read the thread.

Thank you so much for ur valuable feedback.
