| Hi Vivbass, Its sad to know this situation in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. I think we are used to these kinds of situations as we have seen number of times that TN and Karnataka states fighting. Apart from channels issue from either state, I think the transportation problems also will occur. Only poor people would be affected by this. It is very bad that politicians are creating such havoc in the country. I think its only in India that diff state people fight. Where as in US, I havn't seen any kind of discrimination here. I think "ITS HAPPENS ONLY IN INDIA" GOD BLESS INDIA!!! Regards. |

| I disagree... blaming it on the politicians... Where is the brain of the mass around??? just because someone grabs a mic and starts blabbering sugarcoating all the caste in it.. you fall for it?? why give so much importance to some BS politician??? So instead of blaming the outer alien.. got to find out the root cause of this issue.. Political parties major support comes only because of caste...so now people got to think, Why do we still need this caste system?? Every person ask yourself this question - (1) Can I survive in this world removing this manmade identity of caste? (2) Will I preach unity to my younger generation to treat everyone equal, irrespective of what caste/race/job the other person is/doing? Once these questions get positive answers from everyone sometime, this system will be gone and thus theres no BS from politicians. there wont be millions of political parties like now.. but just some major like in US with concrete ideas for the betterment of India and not for the betterment of a particular caste. Finally, if this all works out.. all these border issues will be gone.. we will finally be a developed country, . it won't be pathetic like now.. bihar being the poorest state..kerela being the most literate one out there...Maharastra being the richest and so on.. but there will be a balance of profit/loss across borders.... every indian will have the basic necessities in life. There will be free education for kids.. and the list goes on and on and on.. [hey remember, we are still developing ;)] But will this all happen...... As long as there's hope, why not?

| vivbass, You must be seeing 'unity' in these cases, what a pity! I agree with punitha and you that these are triggered by the politicians for their personal or political gain..... Nandhu, I totally agree with you, but do you think that these politicians will allow people to think.. they would surely divert their attention to some unnecessary issues if the need arises...gone are the days when the politicians were good ( exceptions are there even now) sriniketan

| Nandhu, Maybe politicians are a fraction of the population, but they are the one who represents the entire country or state... Thinking, that's what the need of the hour...do the public think, when these kind of riots start...if they think atleast twice...these would not have taken place... sriniketan

| if u actually notice, both states dont need to scream and shout the way they do, in fact there is so much rain in tamil nadu they better prepare to store all that water, and karnataka is also having lesser rain so it is better that government too start taking steps to bring down the harvesting of crops that need more water.[sugarcane] the tamil nadu is screaming so much because they have sugar cane crops which is the base of molasses for the liquor making units and the state gets more money out of it, they do not follow the rule of supply and spreading the water that is available, they are hiding behind the drinking water label and creating this furore from time to time, if they store water well they have enough to drink as well as for those money crops, not essentials mind u. so one has to realise this political scene just cry and hue for nothing, of course there are so many un employed youths who for a bottle of liquor will do any damage not realising their brethern have nothing to do with these...sunkan

| Dear Vivbass, You sow what you reap. You elect liquor barons to power & this is what you get. This is the sad state of Indian politics. Karunanidhi needs to tone down his language. His comments in 1990 during the Mandal commission agitation led to a lot of uproar. He needs to put an end to his Jingoistic attitude. First TN would not allow any Non-Tamil hoardings to be put up. But they they raised a hue & cry when the other states retaliated. The local Tamilians in Melb compare Karunanidhi & his band of goondas to the Aussie cricket team: It is OK when they damage the other states bu no one should retaliate. Yes Vivbass, I do agree situation is not good. But when crisis strikes, history shows we all come together as one "Indians". On your comment on Racism, we Indians rank in the top 5. In fact you have to just read the matrimonial column to se what I mean. While the men want an Aishwarya clone, the Women want a Salman Khan/Brad Pitt. My ![]() Regards, Corallux
