hi kamalji,
i think you should be very lucky such a loving father :). but PLEASE QUIT SMOKING, it is my kind request.

in my house, no one smokes, like my father and brother-in-law.

my hubby used to smoke before marriage(don't have an idea to what extent) and he was in a mind-set that he should give up after marriage. from the time of engagement and marriage, he slowly gave up completley.he has done that and is continuing for these 4 years for which i am happy. if he takes a smoke from his friend occasionally, he will come and let me know, but i do not encourage that.

please quit smoking. i know it is very difficult, but you can do it.

Hello Kamalji,

Your title for this posting says it all --- entire life goes UP IN SMOKE !! There was once a prog. on Oprah featuring the famous Dr. Oz wherein he shows a real lung of a non-smoker and of one person who smoked heavily -- the difference in the two literally brought tears to the eyes of the woman smoker on the show & the stark reality of what she was doing to her body & her family really shook her up .

My best wishes to you on this difficult but not impossible journey.

With kind regards,
Grace.

Dear most Kamal ji,

All of us are very eagerly waiting for the "change" for a betterment (?) !!

I just read all the replies and wanted to quote one incident here. In one of your earlier posts you had asked whether "Ramya can quit something that she loves?"

Yes, I did quit something or to say aptly, surrendered my likes for a "fruit" under the foot of God !! May sound foolish, but I shall narrate what had happened a couple of years back. My mom loves Jack fruit and when ever my father or I used to go to the market, and if its a season for the fruit, we will buy and come, especially to satisfy my moms likes !! But one day, the same fruit made my mom's health conditions to deteriorate and doctors had strictly advised her to avoid the same when ever possible. That day i decided not to touch that fruit too (Strictly NO jokes)!! Yeah, many a time, we (mom and I) have had serious discussions on she not a kid and that I should eat what ever I like as this is the age to enjoy. But somehow, I lost my interest towards that fruit, and none of us even buy the fruit (for the past two years) if am not wrong.

If we really want to do something and would know that its for a betterment, then even if the whole world is against that, we WILL accomplish the same just to satisfy our "heart" and "soul" !!

Am sorry if I had hurt you anywhere. But always have enjoyed your blogs and immediately prayed to Almighty regarding your well being !!

Loads of Love from your daughter-like
RamyaVaradharajan :)

hi sir,
i must inform you of an error that i made in my previous post.
actually my grandfather passed away when he was 75. i guess i must have got his birth year mixed. it was too late to edit the post.
and i felt i must rectify this error. my apologies for the mistake.

take care sir
