Is being a Ghost Reader wrong?

I was reading a post in IL and I stumbled upon some one using this word and talking as if this is bad? Is it bad just to read the posts without logging in or giving feed back or opinions? I appreciate and like many of the posts. I respond to the posts, which I want to have my input. But for some posts which I love but have no input/opinion to give, I just enjoy that moment and browse on.

Is that OK? One of my own reasons is that I don't want to flood IL with one more of those one liner posts, saying "nice post" etc without giving much opinion. I know it is good to appreciate and encourage people for their nice posts, but just typing something like 'Thanks, a good one', seems just a waste of space on IL server to me. Let me know what you think.

There is nothing wrong in just reading and moving on... If you make your comments, be it one line or million.... What you liked in that post or what u dont like and what your suggestion / advise... then it will make the starter of the thread happy.... It will inspire them to write more....

It is only a encouragement to the people... All are not professional writers... Any words of appreciation will make them happy....

i go by vysan. previously, even i had the same opinion of yours.

but as said by vysan, we are not professional writers and we need more encouragement to give quality posts.

we can make the writers to present more quality threads using few "tactics" in replying their threads.

previously, i had an opinion that game threads are mere waste. but when i just peeped in that forum, i saw many of our ilites participating and having a great fun. and many of them have expressed that playing games is sort of relaxation under work stress.

so, i took it serious and started few game threads of my own. i am happy that i am able to give them some relaxation.

i'll second veda sir's and vanaja ma'am's opinions...
and even as of now im still a ghost reader.i read but dont comment unless i think i have something worthy to say...
but i do try and as much feedback as possible because it is a great way to encourage others to continue writing in IL.
and another thing...posting comments/opinions doesnt cause flooding...in fact im sure our IL team Malathy ma'am and Jey sir would more than happy to receive posts from IL members...
that's my opinion....
