Dear Shanthi,
Thanks for stepping in.Totally agree with you shan..Maturity automatically creeps in woman i think..God made us that way....My mom still wonders& at times asks me too..as to how am i able to manage work/home/cooking everything..She never thought be to be so mature and responsible at all..

Actually, thinking abt my sis's (future)wedding made me write this...Shes in her 3rd year college and may be in a n year or 2 she will get married...Not sure how i wud react..but cant imagine my mom crying again...

Charu....shan theres still a long way, but i'm sure you wud be emotional when you see ur daughter off...from home.

But after reading your writeup, i was thinking about charu to be frank, ofcourse there is so many years to that and also if there will be a kk is another question, but how will we react and how will she react...not sure.

But there is something enigmatic about our culture, that gives us a maturity while stepping from one milestone to another...if u observe you will understand what i mean...from a girl to a woman to a wife to a mother to a grandmother.

dear aishu,

i really thought you are moving into a new house................i mean newly constructed house...............but your write up made me literally cry ..............with those emotions, entering a new home as a new bride, i too wept a lot, may be for a day or 2, then the routine work started, as we were only two of us.........in-laws were in namakkal..........and we were in bangalore..........................we actually transform from daughter to a wife, mother, and so on into the new place.

love

Dearest Aishu,

You did bring back memories dear...mine was a sobbing affair as i could not even send my parents off as my wedding took place in chennai and my in-laws place was very far off. I was miserable among new people and DH was happily sleeping . It took nearly a day as I was soon travelling with him to Durgapur. Another adventure in the offing but those initials days i missed my mom and sis like mad and was phoning them up every 10 mnts...

Beautiful write up dear..

love

Dearie AM,
Thanks a lot for ur appreciation.I'm honoured.I'm sure for every one of us, this moment wud have been so so.. emotional...I also called up my mom n dad nearly 5 times within a day.Hubby was very comforting though and to not to mention that he did sleep well,me by his side crestfallen and dejected.....thinking abt my home..But after 2 days was the traditional sambandhi virundhu, so all my relatives came and i felt soo oooo happy to be with them again.

Aishu,

Devika commented damn well that men cry as we enter their homes.HAHA.Devika some sense of humour.

I suppose Aishu, it hits u at the last minute when u are leaving, the reality dawns, that oh, now i have to go permantly to another home with new people, and how iwll i adjust etc.

But i suppose times change each one and after a month or so, the bride gets very comfortable in her new home and new responsibilities.and now if the bride were to go back to er [parents, half her mind would be back at her husband's home, whether he has eaten well, whether all is well, how will MIL be managaing all alone etc.

But i am a male , so i may be imagining things, u ladies know better.Regards.kamal
No offence meant please.

Dear Kamalji,
Thanks so much for stepping in.. much to my surprise .What you have mentioned about women's mind set after wedding and abt going to mom's place is more or less true.I do keep worrying if my DH has compelted his dinner, was the food okay n stuff..and end up calling him 10 times. My mom goes mad at those times..(hee hee)
