| I wonder if it has happened to any of you ... As a young girl , madly in love with Rafi's songs ... would somehow badger the elders to take me to see the movie .. and would end up feeling miserable ... the beautiful song would have been picturised either on the stone faced Bharat Bhushan or worse still Pradeep Kumar! The fascination continued ... till I heard the song "baahon mein bahar aayi".... i think the film was Mom Ki Gudiya ... Dont know what drew me to that song .. and I insisted that my sister accompany me ... and SLEPT THROUGH THE WHOLE MOVIE . After many years ... heard the song " endha pennilum illadha onru" ... some film by Bharatiraja. Again pestered the Video library to get me a copy of the movie :- Kushboo was so fat .. and she was wearing shorts which turned inwards because her thighs were so huge and the bottoms huge !!! I still continue to do it .. watch a movie because a song I heard was good ... and come away complaining !!!!!!!!!! any body out there with such experience ?? cheers Bhooma |

| HI Bhooma, You are not the only one. whenever I hear a song on the TV nowadays, it the tune is good or the wordings are good, i come to see it but to my disappointment as you had described the scenes are not worth watching and we change channel just to hear the songs. What to do! sriniketan |

| Bhooma, Srinikethan I agree with you both. I was (am?) exactly that way, just lived in the dream world of Rafi's songs and Kishore songs - all the time during my teen years and twenties. I used to have a beautiful imagination of my spouse and life..love..oh...it was wonderful. But when I saw the original songs and picture, it was such a disappointment. It felt like waste of such soulful and wonderful voices. My other disappointment was, when I started doing my Bachelors and Masters, all the people I met were totally ignorant of Rafi's, Latha's and Kishore's songs. At one point during my "Husband-Hunting" period, I was scared that I would get someone who does not have any clue about those sweet melodies and feelings. But you know how they say - 'Jab Bhagwan dhetha hai, tho chappad paadke dhetha hai' - My husband is not just a Kishore/Rafi song Junkie but he is a very good singer of Kishore's, Rafi's and Muskesh's songs from his college years. This was a bonus for me along with all the good things my DH has.

| Hi Di I had a terrible teenage crush on Rafi Saab's voice. At that time T.V was not there, so I could just imagine how he would look like. I really had all my crsuh crushed when I saw he was not that handsome as I had imagined. I was in love with a person with such a beautiful voice. Till date not even one singer has been able to mesmerise me to the extent Rafi saab had. How are you? Love ansh
