Hi Jay
Very well written! It is really very hard to say good bye that too for kids who always want to be with their friends. Your daughter is really brave. I am sure she will adapt to the new environment soon.
Best wishes to you and your daughter!

Sindhu

Hello Jay,

I saw this post of yours nominated in the Finest posts thread for this month and came here to read it.

Wow! what an emotional piece? I felt like I was taking my daugther away from her friends. Just could not stop shedding that drop of tear for your daugther who would miss such lovely little friends. Also, it makes me think how lovely your little angel could have been for having found a place for herself amongst those little friends from different places, traditions and culture?

Take care and have a safe trip back to India. Your daughter is sure to make many good friends in the home country, no doubts.

Malathy

Thanks Arunarc, Vase, sindhuja, Sriniketan, Anandchitra and Prishen for your thoughtful replies and wishes. I am sure all Parents who have been on the move with their young ones can relate very well to this situation having experienced the same sadness on behalf of their children.

Thanks Malathy for your reply and i am happy that i was able to convey my feelings precisely and that it has reached such a wide range of people with the same intensity with which it was conveyed. It is good to relate to others through the medium of words and words can create a very powerful bond. I thank you and Jey sir for providing this excellent forum to enable all of us to reach out to one another at all times.

Jay.

A Wonderful piece, worth the nomination.I am going to also nominate this post, as one of the finest and most moving that i have read.

I can understand what goes thru yr mind. The lovely friends, the British Teacher. And with time, everything fades away slowly, all the memories, and yr child will make new friends, like a tree that sheds its old leves for new ones. That is the way of the world.

I am very touched by your post.Regards.kamal

Hi Jaynat,
Very well written!!
I liked the way you have put the comparision of Indian education with International education.
I am sure kids will get adjusted very fast and she will make lot of new friends.
Good luck for yours daughter's future.

Thanks Kamalji for your nomination and also very practical and thougthful words. Yes you are right , with time old memories fade to be replaced by newer ones and so we move on through life.

Thanks Puni88. Here i see children are allowed to be just children and they have the freedom to explore, to create, to think and to blossom out without any shackles and restrictions.

Regds
Jay.

hi jay,
I was in Istanbul in October. It is such a beautiful place.... As for relocating for the sake of an Indian education... I feel you are not doing the right thing. How many of us can afford such true education for our kids. She could have pursued her A and O levels and gone on to do undergraduate course anywhere... why pluck a plant of and transplant it in a garden where it may have to struggle to grow?
