if i have to say thanks it is to charu for asking me a question. if not for that i would not have been forced to think, tell, and then share it here... Living examples have more impact sometimes..that is why I had to take up these examples... I strongly believe in the strength that is hidden beneath all that weakness... Thanks for stepping in.

Thanks for stepping in. There is nothing amazing, I have just written about what all of us know..only we don't apply.

| Dear Shanvy A lovely write up. I have read the story before. Nice to read it again. knowing one's weakness helps us to know where we lack and it helps us to improve. Having a check on our weakness and drawing strength from it. Yes it helps. But most of the time we are not aware of it. regards vidhi

| Dear most Shanthi ma'am, Should I call it the need of the hour or an apt coincidence !!! I was going ahead with my SWOT (Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats) analysis yesterday and trying to evaluate whether I had tried (or trying) to overcome or at least paralleled my weaknesses. As the river winds through the precipitous gorge, your post filled my nerves with steep attention, calling in for an appropriate consideration. Very neatly said. Now, I remember a mail that was forwarded by my one of friends to me. Though will not go in depth, I will highlight the essence of it. The whole mail revolved around "understanding the concept of God". It was a set of questions and answers, wherein a student posed the question tags and was replied by his professor. One such question will be relevant to our topic here. Is there anything called darkness ?? The answer draws a beautiful conclusion to the whole concept. "The absence of light is what we term as darkness". As such in reality, there is no such darkness that could prevail. In the same way, absence of a particular strength is what we term as weakness. Weakness can be diluted completely once strength is gained. One need not go in search of a "strength" within themselves. As you have rightly put it ma'am, if we are aware of our weakness(es), there decays the enmity !! Intellectual deficiencies can be easily tackled once they are tracked. Weakness(es) should not be allowed to breed over. When let, they make life strenuous and miserable (especially in this word of cut-throat competition). Rather, continuous assessment of past and present records which dates to our performance levels should be stocked. We will be truly benefited if our performance graph shows a Sigmoid curve without the "death phase". (Sigmoid curve is generally drawn as the growth curve of bacterias. It consists of four phases: Lag, Log or exponential, Stationary and Death). If we take real world examples, almost all interviews are fired off with "strengths and weaknesses" questions. Being experienced personally just a couple of months back, I know the impact that leaves the interviewer if our weakness column peaks than that of our strengths. The immediate reflex question being, "have you taken measures to overcome your weakness(es)"??; we should be on the safer side to justify our own selves; else "cat on the wall situation" !!! Our "strengths" and "transformed (form weaknesses to) strengths" always compliments our character per se. Knitting our strengths and capabilities from the weakness(es) that once spread like a web are the real attributes one should watch out for. Once this is cultivated, the moral affirmation and firmness will spread gradually within us thereby making us "evolve" in tune with the internal (personal self)and external demands (community at large). Regards RamyaVaradharajan
