| Throughout my growing years, I had one friend, my best friend who shared my childhood , the joys and sorrows..... This was my younger sister , Shobana, who despite being a couple of years my junior was almost like a Siamese twin of mine As grown ups we let ourselves go on a big ego trip, embrace the evil qualities of selfishness and greed . Just watch our kids to learn a lesson or two or twenty.they quarrel ,let all hell break loose and in a jiffy they forgive and forget and move on. Whereas when we have a disagreement with someone, we carry it on for a long time, never letting go of our ego even at the risk of losing a nurtured relationship of many years. Theres just so much to learn from children.... To ennumerate i would like to relate a true incident that took place sometime back. A race was organised in Hyderabad, and the participants were young girls. All of them stood in a horizontal line waiting for the gunshot to start the race. as soon as they heard the shot they began running , each one wanting to reach the finishing line first. Suddenly.... one of the girls suddenly fell down . She bruised herself and began crying quite loudly!!!. The other participants stopped in their tracks looked back to see this girl cry.All of them began to run but not towards the finishing line , instead towards the girl. they picked her up , dusted her and a couple of them dropped kisses on her head and cheeks. Then they all caught her hands and all of them ran holding hands to the winning post.!! ![]() ![]() ![]() The crowds cheered , a lot of tear stained cheeks among them. Do you know why? These girls were mentally challenged.Yet they had such wonderful qualities of love, faith and compassion. They were not selfish had no ego. This though they were less saner. After this incident I truly wondered how much , we ,the so called mature and saner section would be able to let someone else win, let go of a winning opportunity,be ego free.Take for instance the well known show on Zee called Lil Champs. Its so wonderful to see the kids selflessly supporting each other When we speak of child like faith , love and their ability to forgive and forget , do we realise the purity these qualities possess???. There definitely is so much we can learn from children. today I value these lines I learnt in school and wish to implement it as much as possible in me everyday life. Its always better late than never: Work & Play are chosen ways of life Hope & Peace to gladden everyday, Confidence & Courage in every form of strife, Faith & Love will conquer all the way!! Child is not just the father of man , but in this particular times of Kalyug, it wouldnt be wrong to give the child the position of teacher of man!!!.Please do share your experiences wherein you must have learned something valuable from children. Tons of Regards, Devika |

| Hai devika Wow!!!!!wht a wonderful matter.........really u tocuhed me by that incident..........and surely, its an eyeopener to all of us............ As u said, kids are always.......unselfish, (not 4give) they will forget their fight with their friends and mingle with them imm'ly, share with them whatever they have, they have no ego........ Even i would like to share with u one incident ........when my son was in 1st std........we all went to his Sports Day....,.....normally he used to come first in all races.........but that time he came 2nd..jus bcos he ran fastly but his close friend who is running beside him fell down..........imm'ly this guyrun back and pulled him up ........and consoled him and they ran onceagain................came in 2 nd place..............( iam feeling bad to say that i really shouted at him y u did so,uu r supposed to run fast and come first asusual.........he imm'ly shouted at me , amma he is my friend ma..........he fell down and he is crying ... Even i would like to share with u one incident ........when my son was in 1st std........we all went to his Sports Day....,.....normally he used to come first in all races.........but that time he came 2nd..jus bcos he ran fastly but his close friend who is running beside him fell down..........imm'ly this guyrun back and pulled him up ........and consoled him and they ran onceagain................came in 2 nd place..............( iam feeling bad to say that i real.how can i run.....) I really want to appreciate one quality of Krishna , my son, he really really share all his snacks with his friends wholeheartedly and also to our servants children ...........if i get him snakcs for the whole week...he will share it with our flat hildren........he wont hide it for him........(even i have seen children who doesnot share with anybody nor the parents teach them to share.........if they want to eat anything they will go and close the door, they will eat and come.............i have seen elders saying........hey dont take that snack bag outside they all will eat from that , then u wont be having for u....so keep it safe...........) )and if i cook anything new and declicious...........whoever he see outisde in my flat.(either my neighbours/relatives or guests)....he will pull them into house for eating that...........mama, my amma have prepared "........." today, its so yummy ..u shld not go without eating........." .....sometimes i will be very much embrassed that i wont be having sufficient quantity to share with unexpected people.......... He is doing so because , i have teached him ( we the elders teach them)...but manytimes we forget to implement that in all situations..........if we have any argument with our people....at that time we hesitate to talk with them, go to their place and exchange anything with them ...but tis quality of us.child dont possess....they will forgive and gforget everything whatever has happened with thier friends.......... to forgive is Human to forget is Godliness..... Kids are like GOD, thats y we say .........CHILD IS A REPRESENTATIVE OF GOD.......

| Dear Devika, A heart touching incident. Really tears started overflowing. ![]() ![]() Let me tell you an incident which happened in my life. Once I and my DH had a fight - issue concerning my daughter. Lot of accusation were hurled at me. I was hurt too deeply and did not speak to him. My daughter was always with me during this as she was the main cause of the fight. We slept over it and the next morning I see father and daughter hugging each other and talking very intimately. I was looking like a fool carrying my grouse. Then I realised arrey the purpose of the fight itself is lost why should I go on a ego trip. Then and there I started speaking to my husband and even told him that see the reason for the fight has forgotten the whole issue and she is so happy why the grownups are on their ego trips? You have brought out a valuable lesson which we should learn from kids. Kudos to you. ![]() ![]() |
