Dear friends, Bear with me on this topic and correct me if I am wrong. One day as I was walking with my son from school and saw a squirrel walking on the cable along the road. I was afraid it might fall down, with all the horn from the vehicles down and talking, crying, laughing of the school children at that time. But it went undeterred and reached its goal. i showed this scene to my son also. One thing struck my mind at that time----we should also be like the squirrel( which reached its goal)---unmoved by all the happenings around us and focus only on the goal. The other day---when I was putting leash on my pet, this one came up my mind. Our mind is like an--indoor pet, wanders freely around the house, just like our mind wanders freely everwhere, exploring whatever comes our way or out of our interest. If the pet wants to go outdoors, we put a leash on it and control its movement. Likewise, our mind should be controlled by good habits, thoughts and intentions, shaped in due course. Outdoors becomes salvation to us-- the pet owner- for the pet and in our case- our Guru who will guide us in our path to salvation. Sriniketan

Great job Bhargavi.. I enjoyed it so much i have written right away. Ordinary day to day happenings you have interpreted and said. I wish we were more like the squirrel going to the goal. I wanted for my family to sit and pray but its sooo difficult to get all together and we are only talking about 3. And I agree with the indoor pet and the need for control of mind. Keep at it You have talent!

Nice observation. Practical Stand up philosophy is far easier than heavy book reading. I think women are more open to nature than man. And that makes them better human being... Ria

Your post reminded me of a thought I had read and has stayed with me forever - we must be like ducks in water, calm and composed on the outside but paddling away to our destination underneath. Thanks.

Thanks AC for your prompt FB. I am not as prompt as you are in replying. Sorry for that. Thanks for the encouraging words and happy to see that you agree to what I wrote. sriniketan

Thanks ria for stepping into this thread and also for the words of appreciation. You had also made a good observation that women sees nature more than men. sriniketan

Your philosophy is so true Sri. We normally tend to forget our goal and easily get distracted by things around us. So sometimes it takes a long time for us to attain our goals. Roopa.
