| Knitting another passion of women: While in north I have seen a lot of ladies going in with a knitting needle and a sweater getting ready in various colors and shades and as you stand in the bus stop you find them knitting away like how we find some reading books. On close quarters I have found them to open up the old ones and wash it and re roll it into balls and start with a new design, such is the passion to see self and spouse in different designs, while in Meerut I saw even the ladies who come to do house work had wonderful shawls matching with their dresses, as they were very cheap in Delhi and surrounding areas. When my mother left for US it was pretty cold there, so I made her a sweater with a hood and gloves and we got some woolen socks and when she returned I asked her how was the trip and all while doing so noticed the sweater seemed to be hanging from her shoulder, when I enquired came to know that her younger sister who is double her size thought she is of the same size and tried out and from then onwards this sweater is like this, now what can I say of this human habit, people never realize they are a lot more bigger in size and try out small sweaters and it goes for a toss. The person concerned is left with the sweater hanging over the shoulder or the sleeves seem to have lengthened as they keep pulling it to cover their hands. This aspect of a human is amazing they surprise me no end. this poncho i did for my mom also faced the same situation and now it is loose on her... Even the chudidars that we get stitched they always feel they would fit in better not realizing again that either their bust or the hip may not fit in, but no! Let me try and decide, being youngsters my children have to put up with this attitude of elders at home….sunkan
