| Hi Vanaja, Yes, this kind of stupid stuffs are really upsetting.......I had seen many hindi movies (never noticed this in most of the English movies though) where the same doctor can treat both heart disease as well as knee fracture (Jackie Shroff was the heart specialist who treated the poisoning case). Then some actresses who will be in minis(/sometimes more smaller than minis, don't know what to call it......) through out the film dancing around the bushes with the actor during merry time but when there will be climax, these mini-clad beauties will suddenly turned into saree/salwar clad devis and their blunt /curled hair will grow into some knee length long black/brown hair........still don't know what kind of hair oil they use in the night........ Also, everybody in the serial wear so good clothes even at home with matching jwelleries and even sometimes they go to sleep with all those tam-jham and wake up like dolls.........I had never seen anybody leaving the bed with perfect make-up/or so made up............ And, why the actor/actresses have to sing/dance........is it really required.........that's why, I stopped watching hindi movies........so much of bandal-baaz things.........But CHAK DE was a great variation of all, I really loved that one....felt like real........ Anyways...........if we start seeing the CONS in these movies/serials, the list will be a never ending one........... Regards.

Vanaja, add these on to that list of yours: Village headman's daughter will be wearing modern dresses or will be with full make up with pavadai and top She will be moving around with small kids much younger than her age. Wonder why no friends of her age in the village! When they get up from the bed, their hair will be as if they are out from the parlour and make-up too! Hero always knows how to sing, fight with more than 10 people at once, he will definitely have a sister, who will, be in love or marry the villian, by accident and this guy will do all for the love of his sister. So.... Is this enough or you what some more? Sriniketan

I agree with you all Every thing looks so fake! though hero is mechanic he will have luxury car and mansion. they take trip abroad and these days very common to show flights in movies. When I was kid if I see some sorrow full scenes I used to cry. Now I feel every thing is bunch of bundle. Even the settings look so fake… Tulasi

Dear Vanaja I am glad youre sharing this here. I dont watch any of our indian t.v. dont know if thats a good thing or bad thing. but when i visit someplace they usually have t.v blaring all the time. and at that moment its always fighting, arguing etc. I am somewhat slective what i see on t.v. But like you say if its placed in a central location and we have to cross it now and then to do our million and 1 work load we will glance but think of it this way you are only glancing whereas there are people who watch it longer than you do.

Hello, It looks so artificial when we watch Indian movies, escpecially the TV soaps. For a change if actor goes with natual makeup or less make up, it becomes a news.. for eg: Black movie where Rani mukerjee acted with no make up. By this we can understand our indian people gives more importance to the glamour and not to the acting.. this is why we are failing at Inter National movie awards/ oscar awards etc. FOr eg: New version of DEVDAS, UMRAO JAAN : it is just filled with costly sets, costumes, jewelleries and nothing else. ~Punitha

The hero single handedly fights with a bunch of thugs, rolls down the hills and still not a hair out of place nor are his clothes torn/soiled. Wish it is like this for real life too so I wouldn't have to wash the dirty stinky uniforms after a soccer game nor ever spend a penny on hair cuts ![]()

Dear Members those who have replied, I enjoyed reading all your comments. Actually I felt pathetic and was little serious about this subject. But you all have come out with your humorous comments and made me ![]() .Sriniketan your reply made me laugh more. You are welcome with more. Meeta your observation is too good and I feel you are as serious as me. Tulasi, as you said old movies make us move and cry though we don't find lot of entertainment. They make us feel homely. Anandchithra, I really pity those viewers who sit hours together and watch. Punitha, you are right. An actress should have an informal personal courage and determination to act without make-up. They shouldn't rely on make-up, rich or glamorous costumes. Blondie, If you can act like playing a soccer game you can very well be free out of all after effects . Anyways yours is a good observation.regards, Vanaja
