    My dear Friends,
This incident happend during the year 2003 to 2005, where in I used to place order for manufacturing springs and sheet metal components to one gentleman Mr. Ignitius ( a christian ) who was a skilled person with 20 years of experiances.

At times there was abnormal delays in supplies, some times the workshop seems to be closed for days together, then I enquired nearby units and they informed me that sir, You have been kind enough to give orders to Mr.Ignitius for last so many months and pay money in advance, yet he has some personal problems at home and due to which he has become an addict to alchohol....
His wife and mother requested me to reform Ignitius and bring him back to normalcy.

The fact that due to his addictions he lost his valuable customers like leading companies order and irreqular in execution of orders if any things materialize.

Ignitius was such a nice man, whenever I used to meet him and discuss and I was totally surprised. I asked him one day when he was just wandering on the roads with dirty pants and shirts, without shaving and there was a huge order given to him by me unexecuted.

I asked him, look the life is in your hands, if you want to enjoy it , do concentrate on your work, I never advice Alchohal is very bad, but when consumed at little intake with good food during weekends and taking rest will make you feel fresh. You have 3 daughters and a good house wife, mother (she used to sell sarees to neighbourhood and live on its earnings ) and time to reconsider and reform.

If you need drinks, have it in the evenings late night and take some good rest.
But not in quantity to consume, you lose money and your health.

He said , sir I wanted to leave it but couldnot because of our friends sake, then I told him, is it your friends offer you daily drinks from their pocket, he said no, I used buy it at my cost.

By the time he could realize his mistake, his business went to worse conditions, he could not pay the rent for his house, his unit and salary to staff ( nearly he had 16 workers and it went down to mere 2 workers by the time he became an addict ).

Then I decided to find out the best solutions and took incharge of his unit, visit it on daily basis for 2 hours in the mornings and one hour in the evenings, cleared his dues , rental, educational fees for his daughers, dresses for his family during Christmas, New Year. Took compleate control of funds by placing my orders and our friends orders, brought back the workers and paid their salary dues..

Years went on by the time, nearly 2 years, I made him talk to me often with neccessary advices, got him a two wheeler, used to give him less money for his pocket expenses, weekly expenses to his wife to run the family.

Slowly he realized the importance of de- addictions for which I used to take him to the hospitals, care centres of addictions, made him to speak to those inmates., shown him the sufferings due to excess drinks...this has made him to feel, it is time to reduce the drinks and slowly he turned out to be an occassional drinker on few functions, get togethers.

I gave him back the keys of the unit and said, look now you can stand on your own and pay me back the amount( Rs.56000 by the time ) in installments without disturbing the cash flow from the units earnings.

He started with full of vigour and enthustic behaviours to let his friends know what he is capable of...he slowly returned my money in installments of 5000,2000,7500 like that and cleared it after 2 years in 2007, bought a piece of land and constructed a small house, shifted his unit to a bigger place and came back with flying colours of an enterprising manufacturers.

The reason of this explanations are because a man is an addict and society should not make him worse and some one should come forward to let them reform.

Every one of us has our own plus and minus in Life, that does not mean we should look after ourselves alone and duty to pay back to society by helping the needy.

That is indeed a uplifting post. If everyone can influence just one person in their lifetime like this, the world would be a much better place. People who call themselves your friends only to have drinks - are not your friends!!

Thanks for the socio-awareness observations from our dear shobana & Sidhuja.
It's everyone's collective efforts starts right from self to society results in pleasantness.
There are many such helping hands in the name of NGO's are there in the society unnoticed.
