| All in a name: The name starts its journey from the childhood itself, the child though is playing in the mud is all ears for his mother’s call for food and tit bits, and would love to hear –“my darling none like you”. Not everyone work to hear something like this, but some are lucky to land up in a position by their looks, attitude, caring nature, you can name it.. Then comes the school, one would like to hear the marks on the report card to be on the higher side not being aware that you should work for it, some miracles somewhere to ensure your name on top, and we would love our mother or father to be there while we receive a gift from the school authority, my brother who always used to come first in class would search for my mother to see him, the least interested in the prize, the value of the prize becomes ten fold when you have your dear one looking at it, or appreciates it. Human natures, to thrive for appreciation, some take it strong and some keep working at it, still only a few are recognized, not all come under the category of luck. The higher authority is always in greed to get the recognition for the work done by his assistants. Now let us look at the writers, wherever we blog we enjoy to see our name on focus, or we go through the thread that we have started and enjoy the most attention, and we run through the entire list of the daily post to see the level of attention our article has got. Sometime the article that we think is going to be a super hit, will pass away without a shade of appreciation, and when you come across something hitting the gold which you never anticipate, leaves you elated. My husband when he accompanied me while I was singing used to be too thrilled to hear his name for each announcement like mr rajkumar and smt sundari kannan are going to render this kannada hit, now this being a daily announcement did nothing to me the way it filled him with joy. When we reach home he said one day, how nice my name is being announced every day in your programme before each number that you give. It is all in a name after all. The hindi singers have left history with Kishore kumar, Rafi, Mukesh, and latha and Asha still rendering great music… The political parties now want that their name should go down in history for a particular nuclear deal with the international market. We have Narasimharao bringing about a great change in the global market for Some of us even name our children after a great personality because we are influenced by them, like the spiritual leaders, or political leaders, also the film stars. Children thrive to get a degree next to it, a nice Dr. would do great next to my name on the name plate outside my home, the most sort after name in the locality. Each performance is lined by a longing for a recognition of the name. Even the tamil pazhamozhi that they say peyar solla pillai illaiye pa, none to tell my fame and name, lament of a childless couple. Regards sunkan..
