Clock..clock on the wall....

Dear Sriniketan : A funny yet good topic, we have the same issue at home where no one has the precise time, I usually look at my cell phone for the right time, but as a rule I keep all watches 5-10 minutes ahead so that way we are not late.

Me too rely on the cell phone time...when power outrages occur ..and the digital ones starts blinking about the time...

Even in the clock or watch stores, if you notice not all the clocks or watches show the correct time....

On the lines of 'mirror, mirror on the wall', I was thinking...'Clock, clock on the wall, which one shows the correct time of them all...'

Incidentally, I read in Wikihow today.how you can tell the time without a clock and it looks interesting...thought of practising myself and let you know the results..

Have you observed one thing in clock shops. All new clocks/watches on display will show the time as 12 minutes past 10 with the seconds hand pointing to 7. I asked a shopkeeper why this is so but did not get a satisfactory answer. Any idea why?

Even I had noticed that..it is clearly shown on the 'watch company' ads..too...

One reason i came to know ...

I read somewhere that..it was to commemorate the time of the assassination of the American President Lincoln...

I searched the net to give the information why the clocks at display always show 10 min. past 10...
This question was raised in saikripa's post..
The answer I gave seems to be wrong...but that idea was going around for a long time it seems..

The real reason for this display is...TO SHOW THE MANUFACTURER'S LOGO WHICH IS ALWAYS UNDER 12'O CLOCK..

Hope I cleared your doubt, saikripa..which in return cleared my doubt too...

Clock… We have 5 clocks in 2 rooms… (2 wall clock and 3 alarm time piece…) We are 3 people staying in the flat… None of these clocks show a common time… There will be 10-15 mnts difference according to our convenience… Over and above this we have our own wrist watches and mobiles…

So we have 11 set of time available with us at any point of time… hahahahahahaha… None of them match and we are not sure which is the correct time… But when we check out with the clock tover in this town, which is supposed to show the Official time… Again there is a difference between that and the time announced in the national radio…

I can only say, if our time is right then we will get to do the right things at the right time…

Thanks to you thread which made me to check all the times… including my time…
