You know why? It's because I had realized over the last few days what your notion of happiness is. Let me try summarize what I understood.

If you view happiness as a narrow bridge connecting you to your personal gains, then you are bound to remain unhappy most of the days of your life. You can't be materially successfull everyday. In fact, you can be successful in that selfish sense only occasionally. So, this perception of happiness is a sure way of keeping you unhappy most of the time.

But let's define happiness broadly. Can I feel happy to see someone else smile with happiness? Can I feel happy because another person is happy? And if the answer is yes, they you are assured that you are happy everyday of your life. Because each day brings some happiness to someone you know.

So, my reaction to your post is: YES, there is every reason to celebrate each day of our lives. Someone somewhere is surely happy and we should thank God that he has sent so much happiness to so many people for so much time.

Great post.

Dear OJ,

This one is from the heart and real. This is the way I live life.

See u came over here, and I was happy when u said that u like it here more than the previous site and u want to stay here forever. And this creates moer competition for me, as more readers will go to yr lovely posts than mine.

But I feel haoppy, if u are better, u should get yr dues. And seeing u successful makes me happy .

And this makes me strive harder to write better blogs as I know I have tough competiotion , and the result is the monkey blog of mine, which has overtaken yr blogs eh !

And it makes Indus more lively, and I too like it when I competiting with the best here, so now u face competiotion from me man, OJ.So write as best as u can, as I am after yr back.HAHA.

May the best man win, as they Say ????

What say I lites ????

Dear Kamalji

I am honoured with your reply. Thank u. In IL there are talented persons who write very well. In front of them I feel I am nothing. But one thing is there I am now a senior person by age but in my heart I am still a young person. I was just waiting for your reply to what I have written and today is the happy day for me. Yesterday was a happy day becos my daughter got a job. She is in Dubai. She was working since 6 years. But left that job sometime back.. This is the true happiness when we get love and affection from our friends and dear ones.

with blessings

viji

To answer you question, nope happiness does not need a reason. Or may be it does need a reason and thankfully they are aplenty!

Just like most of you, I have enough reasons to be happy every single day of my life. The basic and the main reason being, I am happy about being what I am and what I am working to be. God has given me this birth and given me the ability to make my life the way I want it to be. To me, that seems to be one helluva reason to celebrate!

HE has given me total control over choosing how I interact with people, choosing how I feel about people, choosing how I react to situations. Wow, HE really has made me incharge of my life! And so, I choose to celebrate each day for something and with someone.

Yesterday I celebrated because I took a day off from work (for no reason) and spent the time with my kids who also got to stay home from their school/daycare. I cooked a sumptuous meal, took them to the park, we watched a movie together, took an afternoon nap etc etc. Today I am celebrating at work, because I came back to work after a break of 4 days. So I am looking forward to tackling all the work that is awaiting me. I know there is a reason awaiting so I can celebrate tomorrow.

I believe in my Dad's philosophy on happiness. He says - I am always happy. If something good happens in my life, it only adds a "very" in front of my happiness. If something bad happens in life, it only takes away the very from the front of my happiness. So, my basic happiness is always intact.

Okay, right now I am happy that I finally wrote this FB that I had been thinking about doing for long!

Here's a toast to all us happy souls!

SS

Dear SS,

I loved what yr dad says, about the Very.So true.It is in us to be happy or sad, akin to a half Glass story.

So here’s my full glass of Champagne, cheers to u SS, and u have chosen to comment on my blog, and that has made me happy, and has made u happy.True ?

Yes u had a great time with yr children and I am sure u giving them time, and going to the park, must have given them more happiness, than taking them to Disney World but u not being there with them.

You have a great attitude, and u will always be happy, alongwith ur family.Regards.kamal

Kamalji,
You don't need any reason to be happy....everything thing you enjoy seeing, reading, hearing, thinking and of course, feeling, will make you happy...

See we live in a place where, we need a reason for every happening..so as the reason to party also...

Nice to read that you had a reason to party...the reason is you are happy..isn't it..

Kamalji : That is a valid point - happiness needs no reason, yet we tend to assume that people will be happy only if something good has happened.

If you invite me for dinner and drinks I will not ask you the question, I will just enjoy the good time and we will talk about life and your sisters on IL - yeah I am giving away my title as the brother to you - after all aap mujh se bade hai to umar ka khayal rakhna padta hai

Dear Kamalji,

Wow !!! Wonderful write up !!! Aap Kamal hain, isliye Kamaal karthe hain !!

I too agree with your views (Sometimes, I used to give gifts for the loved ones for no reason, as you)

You don't need any reason to be happy....if you have started enjoying everything thing around you, then definitely people around you (like us ) will also be happy !!!

Enjoyed reading, each and every line of yours !!! Proud to have you here ...
