( no wonder your friends could not understand....this happens frequently in our IL circle!...he he!)And just now i read Chitvish's blog on being Happy even if others think we are selfish! So looks like partying and Happiness have started in our IL family!

Of course people are always wanting to know why we are partying.....they need a reason.....
Being in this country, in the beginning to just meet another fellow indian itself made me so happy....and come weekends i ended up inviting and cooking for 20 people! But just being together with indians was reason enough for me to Party! After joining IL in 2005, we all would virtually have parties, eat cakes and kheer and generally feel happy!
Of course now that you reminded me, i think i have not been partying for quite sometime....( read that as not feeling happy!) Have to change that soon

Now don't make us jealous that you are going to meet the C and C and party! But it will be real fun when you meet the virtual friends with whom you have shared so much......That happened to me when i met Chithra and Sundari for the first time!
Go ahead JUST BE HAPPY and Party ! ( i have noted down from another thread about the discount factor from Jaipur Gems .....will take you up on it, even if Chitvish does not......)

Dear Sudha,

Yes Chitivish and Sri and me will meet soon, and Chitvish has promised to have a glass of wine or champagne with us.I told her on her blog, that I thought she was that religious type of woman, with no interest in the world,.least of all drinking wine, and meeting with a notorious character called Kamalji, who has all the possible vices possible in a human being. So there are going to be firworks of the good kidn when we meet.i am looking forward to the meeting, though I cant say the same about the worthy two.HAHA

So now u must party.i just partied yesterday with friends, playing cards in the comfort of the AC, with India losuing thematch, the stupid Indians, but we friends had a great time.

So cheers in advance to yr party, and hey, I am feeling the burps in advance of the good food and drinks that u will give me.Hic !

Jaipur Gems, well take my wife there, when we are in Chennai what say.

Regards.kamal

Dear Kamalji

Namasteji. What you have written is 100% correct. Happiness is added life and the giver of life. It is not how much we have but how much we enjoy that makes happiness. Being with friends like you is great happiness.

I am older than you. So my blessings to u.

Dear Kamalji:

This reads just like you. I didn't even check who was the writer till I had reached the last few lines. I said to myself -- hey, this has got to be Kamal!

You know why? It's because I had realized over the last few days what your notion of happiness is. Let me try summarize what I understood.

If you view happiness as a narrow bridge connecting you to your personal gains, then you are bound to remain unhappy most of the days of your life. You can't be materially successfull everyday. In fact, you can be successful in that selfish sense only occasionally. So, this perception of happiness is a sure way of keeping you unhappy most of the time.

But let's define happiness broadly. Can I feel happy to see someone else smile with happiness? Can I feel happy because another person is happy? And if the answer is yes, they you are assured that you are happy everyday of your life. Because each day brings some happiness to someone you know.

So, my reaction to your post is: YES, there is every reason to celebrate each day of our lives. Someone somewhere is surely happy and we should thank God that he has sent so much happiness to so many people for so much time.

Great post.

Dear Kamalji,

To answer you question, nope happiness does not need a reason. Or may be it does need a reason and thankfully they are aplenty!

Just like most of you, I have enough reasons to be happy every single day of my life. The basic and the main reason being, I am happy about being what I am and what I am working to be. God has given me this birth and given me the ability to make my life the way I want it to be. To me, that seems to be one helluva reason to celebrate!

HE has given me total control over choosing how I interact with people, choosing how I feel about people, choosing how I react to situations. Wow, HE really has made me incharge of my life! And so, I choose to celebrate each day for something and with someone.

Yesterday I celebrated because I took a day off from work (for no reason) and spent the time with my kids who also got to stay home from their school/daycare. I cooked a sumptuous meal, took them to the park, we watched a movie together, took an afternoon nap etc etc. Today I am celebrating at work, because I came back to work after a break of 4 days. So I am looking forward to tackling all the work that is awaiting me. I know there is a reason awaiting so I can celebrate tomorrow.

I believe in my Dad's philosophy on happiness. He says - I am always happy. If something good happens in my life, it only adds a "very" in front of my happiness. If something bad happens in life, it only takes away the very from the front of my happiness. So, my basic happiness is always intact.

Okay, right now I am happy that I finally wrote this FB that I had been thinking about doing for long!

Here's a toast to all us happy souls!

SS

We sit and ponder over petty silly things which is of no use.................

Until we are innocent and ignorant of everything we are happy, once man starts to explore, he looses that happiness.......................
so let me be like Kamalji, who parties for no reason, who makes ridiculous into hilarious....................
Enjoyed, and let me also plan for a party...............

No way, happiness dosen't need a reason...the very thought first thing in the morning when i wake up that aah i am alive and this day is a bonus, itself is a reson to celebrate.

Initially some people in our group didn't turn up for our parties as we don't serve drinks and non-veg.

At IL too its sort of a party time with so amny toast making the rounds.

Dear Roopa,

See if u don’t serve Non Veg and Drinks how can u ever hope to invite Kamalji ?

But can I bring my own nonveg and a bottle ever to yr house, in case u invite me.Do u know I have a dozen relatives in Poona, some in Aggarwal Colony.Poona has changed tremendously, and if there is one place I would like to stay after Jauipur that is Poona.Lovely is the word.

I was there 2 years back, when I had not yet started to blog, and stayed at Boat club for a wedding, and we were there for like 5 days.Had Fun.

Regards.kamal
