Hi Viji
Your coffee experience brought back some embarrasing memories..

When I was young.. i entered kitchen only to drink water.. so until after marriage, my knowledge was zero (may be negative)

So one day I was in kitchen helping my mother with some cleaning.. and she was about to prepare coffee.. SO she asked me to pu powder in the filter while she boiled water.. I did as told.. But then suddenly I asked her what how come the powder does not fall through the filter only water does.. My father overheard this and he used to make fun of me always telling that I did not even know how coffee filter works..

He never fails to mention this even today in front of my hubby..So nowadays here in US I safely opt for Instant coffee..
When we call them on weekends on mornings and I tell him I am having coffee now.. he starts laughing..

Dear VLR.

Good one. When I wrote about coffee making I was thinking I am the only one who did a mistake. But nice to know that others are also there. Each one's experience is different.
