| Dear Vidya Thank you for such a nice comment. Why blame the Government for lack of infrastructure facility. Why cannot the big corporations sponsor talented athletes therby giving back to the community? How about the super rich? Surely its not beyond them to sponsor and help! Well when we were watching the tryouts to the Olympics could not help but wonder! |

| Hi AC, Good post....it is a combinations of all the reasons u have given...in india except for cricket there is no fan following for any other sports...no adulation over sports..why in families like ours one will always appreciate an IIT engineer than a bronze medallist...we are more into brain power than brawns...it is only in recent times that we are talking about having a fit body etc...and even those who have exelled in sports shouldnt they be in the lookout for new talent and coach them for free just to carry our nations name further...imagine if V ANAND offerred to coach atleast half a dozen chess players,padukone for badminton,and the others in their respective fields wouldnt it make a difference?...we never think as anation ..it is all about individuals...
