Very true that most of the women who watches this daily serials a lot and gets addicted,Its the same if Mother´s do thn the kids follow it.So its the duty of Mother´s especially to avoid kids from this Sentimental,Lady villian ...but this serials last for yrs and yrs and the story remains the same..When I am doing my graduation I had started seeing ´Kasuathi Zindagi ki´,It was interesting as I liked the characters very well but after an yr seeing that there is no values for the relations hero marrying his own bro´s wife ufffffffffffffffffffff,My mom scolded me to stop the serial as it is full of waste of time and never ends....Thanks to my Mom..Oops the serial lasted for more than 5 yrs... or may be still telecasting.. ![]() Hugs, dg |

| Hi brindha.... Even I used to watch serials with mom n granny from school days, but those days serials were seen weekly(like buniyad..I only know the name..never understood what was the story since I was a 5-6 yrs old)..I still remember we (me n my sisters) used to watch jungle book, vikram beetal, Ek se badkar ek, Dekh bhai dekh.... all this were actual entertainers and we always used to wait for a week for us to catch up with them, We had a good collection of Serials, As we grew up, lots of channels started and the quality too went down,..I still remember How I used to kepp tab of Kyunki..during my engineering days, After 1 year it became too much to take in ...n I dont remember when I saw the last episode..(5 yrs back i guess!!)....1 more thing theese days people watch thoose serials so that they are left out in the gossip in office/ Neighbourhood(like..did u See that sari,..did u see that jwellery, did u see that interiors....)... And about the lady singin song to the VJ.... well we cannot judge whoose jid it was,,was it hers..or may be her sisters Kid / Brothers.... U neverknow right,...Did she say...that it was her Child?? Cheers!! Anu |

| It is quite saddening that quite a lot of moms especially from the middle class and lower middle class spend a lot of time in front of the idiot box or wile away their time gossiping with their neighbours little realising that their kids are emulating them and observing their every move. It would certainly have a negative impact on the kids. Your mention about a mom who thought it more important to be singing to a RJ instead of attending to her babe's crying calls is sure unpalatable. Regards, Malathi

| Dear Brindha, This is the situation in most homes today where the soaps take up more than half of the time. It is upto the people, who spend or shud i say waste so much time on this, to realise that they can put it to better use. It is invading our day with so much vogour that half the work we could have done otherwise takes a backseat.Coming on TV shows the music ones or the chat shows is a great matter of pride, would be the same for all but you have to limit it. Some will not go for weddings or even take doc appointments for having to miss some prog on TV, what to do about that????

| Hi brindhak, 'teens getting influenced' not withstanding, is it not closing the windows, about what is happening around?I agree that too much is bad, but to some extent they get prepared to face life as it is, and jolts them from any dreaming or imagination about a fantasy or fairytale world! They become worldly wise to tackle all types of experiences.May be adults of today are very smart, because they had more exposure,TV being one source, smarter than people who didn't know what a TV was, when they were young! ![]() |
