| My very dear Mithila, Just got back from the cinema theatre after watching your movie called, "I learnt 'meditation' ,my dear, and went to meet my athai in my village".It was a matinee show and I enjoyed it thoroughly till the very end ! Mythila, your story and the characters you create just waltz along so beautifullly in front of our eyes that its like watching a movie ! ![]() As you write mostly in the first person it seems even more authentic.I liked your observations on the hep ,partying Page 3 crowd that exists in every metropolis. They are the same whether it is Delhi. Mumbai or Paris or London, shallow and ephemeral always. It was really a breath of fresh air to read about Saroja's take on Meditation and her profound views on the work ethic. Her philosophy of doing ones karma with concentration is defenitely a wholesome one. An enjoyable read , as usual from you dear as always, and looking forward to more ad infinitum !! warm regards PAULINA ![]() |

| My dear Paulina, Thank you for the wonderful comment.Your English is impeccable,my dear, don't I envy you? The pressure cooker whistle, the person who was my husband.'s neighbour in Escorts and his complaint about his wife not minding the cooker whistle,my initiation inti pranayamam are leaves from my every day life.Saroja is purely fictional and Iam happy everybody likes her. I also like the peaceful village atmosphere. lots of love mithila kannan

| My dear Malathy, Thanks for stepping in and the lovely FB.I agree with you ,the pressures, both physical and mental ,of the fast life that we lead and its effect on all the facets of our lives is telling on our interaction with others. We tend to lose temper fast, our tolerance level has also come down, there is always an urge to impress others.I too think of the simple life that our elders lived, and the mental peace they enjoyed. The next generation!I wonder,Malathy how are they going to cope up with the constantly changing curriculam and the expectations of the parents and the society.God should help the. Let us take comfort inthe fact that the preset generations' IQ is fantastic, they have million opportunities to explore. But where does meditation come here?Oh,yes, meditation will help them cope up with any challenges that they have to combat. love mithila kannan

| Dear Mythili, I enjoyed reading your post , truly well written. I can relate to your Saro athai because my mother is exactly the same but she lives in Chennai. Everytime she keeps insisting on the importance of taking your work as some kind of penance instead of thinking it as a monotonous chore. regards, uma |

| Dear uma, Thank you for the kind words.Iam so happy to hear about your mother and the devotion with which she finishes her chores. We need people like her to guide the younger generation. love mithila kannan
