| Hi mithilaKannan, I read the description, in the morning, and was thinking on the same lines of your saroja athai before coming to the end of it... REally liked your attempts at meditation. There is one blog of cheeniya sir, were he also has discussed meditation.just look at it. I relate 100% to your athai, as I believe and practice the same.

| Dear Mithila I am surprised when you say that you can never be an engaging conversationalist in a party and you cite paucity of popular subjects as a reason. I find it difficult to believe it. A person, who can write so beautifully on a mundane subject, can never be a flop in a social gathering. If you want to put my statement to test. join in one the future IL gatherings and you'll observe the ILites eating out of your hand! But the kind of crowd where you failed to make a mark is something that I have come across myself. People who are sold on fashion and jewellery can hardly get interested in any subject that would require activation of grey cells! But I must tell you honestly that your aunt Saro takes my breath away! What an attitude to have! Very often we talk about work being worship. We even keep placards reading so in our work spots but the more we talk about it, the less we work. But from drawing kolams to cooking, every bit of activity reaches the proportion of 'thavam' (penance) for your aunt. It is no surprise that she has opened your eyes. From now on, you dont have to draw your stomach in or engage in such activities that might subject those parts of your body to intense speculation as to what are you working at. A family that can have fun meditating the way you do, the days can hardly wait to dawn! I can visualise the Sun peeping through your window to see what are you upto this time! Your tryst with meditation made a beautiful reading and the entry of Saro at the climax clinched the issue! My congratulations to you for a warm tale well narrated. Sri

| Dear Lalitha, Mama is mortally afraid of the pressure cooker and the whistles. The incident where he narrates about a fellow patient in Escorts hospital also is partially true. I think all ladies have this problem of not being able to allot time for themselves particularly in the morning hours.Athai is a fictious character. It would be nice to have an athai ,no who lives in a beautiful village.Ok let us atleast write about it and derive some satisfaction. How are you otherwise? lots of love mithila kannan

| Dear Sir, Thank you for your kind words. The difference between a great writer and a novice is in the following expression that you have given 'thavam' (penance) See I could not think of that word. That makes lot of difference, adds class to Saro's kind of meditation. I have a lot to learn from you. Thank you once again Regards mithila kannan

| Dear shanvy, Thank you dear friend for your fb.I will definitely read cheeniya sir's blog. There is so much to learn from him.He adds one word here and there and that word creates magic. Saro athai is a purely imaginary character.Almost all the characters in my threads are imaginary except the thread where I have written about my mother. Writing in first person appeals to me.When I write in first person thoughts flow easily. Thank you once again love mithila kannan

| Hi Really enjoyed the post.......it was humorous and at the same time you have successfully passed on the message....To tell u, I am a Mother Devotee (Aurobindo Ashram) and one thing I have learnt is to meditate……I may not have successfully learnt the art of meditation but the attempt helped me a lot………As u said everything and every one’s face would come to my mind……but I would still continue with my posture…. but after some time I would feel refreshed and my mind would be clear……..I used to do this when I appeared for my ACS exams……..It helped me a lot to get inside the exam room confidently…….so while happily doing a job that u like is also meditation …….please …please don’t give up ur attempt to do meditation……..
