| AnandChitra, I had to respond to this. I just read it and it seemed like you were peeking into my household! This past weekend, my little girl wanted to help me with laundry. Soon she was joined by her little brother. They helped me toss cloths into the washing machine. So far so good. Soon the cloths were tranfered with much fan-fare into the dryer. Then the cloths were ready to be folded or ironed and put away. Both the little ones wanted to help (gulp...) ![]() My daughter wanted to do her WAY and the final result didn't look like mine. I tried teaching her but she insisted on doing her way and expected the results my way. So after much frustration, we settled that her way was better than mine. Who cares how the underwear is folded anyway? They get tossed and thrown every which way with in next 24 hrs. While we two girls were fiddling about the right way to fold the undies, my son was busy tossing the folded cloths all over the floor. At the end of 1 hour of trying to fold and put away half a basket load of cloths, I had mastered about 20 various way to fold kids cloths. My daughter mastered how to group cloths together and my son found out how a cloth fresh out of dryer tastes like. Next load, my hubby did it HIS WAY (I made him do it because, I wanted to start the week with no laundry to worry about). This morning, he and I were complaining that we couldn't find what we were looking for, because things were not in their usual places because things were not done MY WAY! So which is better? Getting the work done? Or getting the work done MY WAY? These days, I settle for just getting the work done. InduSri Last edited by InduSri; 17th November 2008 at 05:30 PM. |

I think its a sure sign of motherhood when we realise its better for things to get done . Over time nature prepares us in its own subtle way. Once children come in and show us there ismore to folding laundry like maybe TASTE the laundry .. so then its time to slack off a little and just get things done.A lot of fun is lost if we were to stick to our rules and regiments but there is more bonding and fun to be had if we all toss the clothes and play a bit and maybe have to search a little bit too. This is certainly my way of thinking and so we have a more relaxed attitude around us . ![]() |
