Love Vs Horoscopes (Horrorscopes) !!

Dear Brindha,
There are some values that are hard to vhange , horoscopes being one of them.
In India whether it is 'Jathakam' or 'Janam Kundali' or any other name that it goes by is a hard tradition to break.This comes in with more force mostly when it is arranged marraige and within the same belief. Not how or where you get married, but how you live, how compatible you are that matters.

It is alright...but if Keerthi's father enquired about Suresh and his family, couldn't he find out the Suresh has 'made' his own horoscope...this is only a doubt...

In love and arranged marriages, understanding and love is important...other things don't matter...
We look into horoscopes only for our own referance...but what is going to happen is already written...
Because of this one's life should not be affected...

Very nice observation and thought... Since Suresh parents passed
away No other relatives could furnish the proper horo' of him..he was the one to deal with it.. (I thought this way Mam ..)

saw this thread today only and interesting...mine has been an arranged marriage with matching of horoscopes by my father..but my husbands side did not believe in it..but i have often felt i will not check horoscopes etc for my daughter (maybe another 7-8 years down the lane.?..)because it restricts your choice...there are much more important things to consider than matching of horoscopes which luckily worked out for me...my daugfghter should also be similarly lucky,no? (of course all this if it happens to be a marriage arranged by me) I am glad to read the opinions expressed by all others..

It all depends on that particular family and their beliefs me thinks.. We can just hope that they are think broadly and not get confined.

If you ask me, as long as the guy and girl are in sync, thats all should matter.

There is a very big list of things that has been in our society for millions of years, when will it stop? Someone here mentioned, not checking horoscope will give more choices..

Not checking, the gothram, caste, sub caste, religion, give more? Are we ready to do that?

We (most of us) have come out of a smaller shell (horoscope checking) but there are more to come out off, yeah?

End of the day marriage is a unison - why would these manmade things come in between?

But in reality this will not change will not happen that easily atleast in India.
I have seen one of my friends cousin( or better to say aunt?) getting married at 38. Why.. because they were looking for the right match in vadama sect. I don't know the full story, but know that, their parents did not accept anything other than this sect.

Shes still struggling to conceive. What type of life is this? Stupid parents I say. They had their good life and stole their daughter's.

It depends on person to person to believe it or not ... If you take our Elders (my parents & In-laws) they believe very much but according to their needs ... But, my Hubby and myself don't believe this dear ...

You are a master story teller dear , and I really admire the neat way you tie up

everything with a well crafted plot and the thought provoking message you convey

As for the relevance of the topic I'd like to say 'to each his own view ! '

Our family have been avid followers and my grandfather's passion was

Astrology which he pursued as a hobby.We can only take this science as a

guideline and not be a slave to it by letting it govern our lives is my personal

opinion.

In both our daughters cases we had no choice to run to any astrologer as they

both married Americans !! Life has been good so far.Thank heavens !!
