Dear PS,

I'm a new member. just joined in. read your piece on wanting to turn the clock back... i resonate with what u have written. so many times i have wished to turn back the clock and re-experience something or just go back in time and do things differently. one of things i rue the most is that i married too soon after my post-grad. i wish i had worked for a couple of years or maybe studied more. tried to go abroad for higher studies. today i'm 37, mother to a 10 year son. i know i've missed the bus. but i wish i had given my career a serious attempt. the realization that i could do so much more came rather late in life. can't blame anyone. and that's very frustrating. if i could blame my husband for not letting me work...it would have been easy. but i can't. he always told me that i'm capable of so much more. but i was just too lazy and cushy to push myself and do something. now when i'm knocking on the doors of 40...i wish i could turn the clock back. am i being an escapist yet again?

Dear Kaybee,
A heary welcome to you as a new member. Please do not indulge in self pity.Bringing up your son as a good citizen is also a meritorius job. You should feel proud to be a good homemaker. In my opinion women should opt for a job only to support financial burden. There are so many ways to bring forth your talaent. Cheer up and pursue your other interests.
Love,
PS
