| svrlax, I usually to find ways to ease my tension...hope to get some tips here..nowadays I go out of the house for a while,( of course to get the fresh air, nothingelse)... I talk to my parents or my hubby relating this...so that I can vent out my feelings.. My husband tells all who are tensed to meditate, which I am doing...daily When my son is tensed, I usually ask him to write in a piece of paper so that he can vent out his feelings....this is what I did during my initial years of my marriage, when there were nobody near me ....but I tore them now ( what is the use now?) sriniketan

| Yes kanaka there one similarity among us in relaxing myself, when it is late night and I would not be able to go for a walk or catch a public transport then my next resort would be reading something seriously...... But cleaning the house is also something I do, but when I stay alone (When I am away from my mother land). This I am forced to do just because, I dont like my home to be untidy and also because there is none to clean it Ironing / pressing clothes is my daily activity in the morning , I do hurriedly in the morning with all the days tension piled up before me challenging my performance for the whole day.

| Yes Sriniketan, It was the same intention of mine to get tips to get ILites tension relaxed. When things get out of control I do vent out my tension by talking to my mom and friends. In one of my assignments it demanded to work for a weekly average of 14Hrs per day for around 2 months. It too had lots of back stabbing politics and driving me into a situation where it was do or die for me. To add to the worst I was staying alone that too in a distant location from my homeland. But I never talk to my mom and friends about my office tension or anything, instead I let doen my ears to hear to all their regular activities and so on. It also used to be a great relaxation. I also get some one on phone and start kidding them(in a healthy manner so that they too enjoy it) . By then it would be midnight or past that still I dont miss to call people and have a enjoyable chat and then go to slep in a relaxed mind Meditation, this is something my parents and friends are involved in ad they also sincerely advise me to do. But I never practice it. From my schooling days I am lazy to write and so never tried it, but as a boon/curse my career demands me to do lots of document writing and now a days forced to practice writing a lot.Quote:

| When I am tensed, first thing is that I move away from that place and have a glass of cold water. If I am still tensed I try to hear my favorite songs and finally sit and meditate for a while. |

| I use various ways to ease my tension. Try to relax with something to read or do croswords, sudoku etc. Watch tv Surf the net If at home and time permitting...then i go down normally many ladies come down in the evening for a walk and just chit chat...with kids playing around. Shavasan meditation Watch cartoons write down my frustrations call up and talk to my husband. cook But lately i try not to get tensed up...my husband says, this is gods will for us so accept it calmly and don't get tensed and spoil your health. | I have dificulty in implementing what sharadha said just because I am lazy and so I always have a bottle filled with water besides me. Songs yes that too is a good option but I dont get the fullest enjoyment which I would probably get in a happy mood. So I dont want that to be half done and I dont try it at tensed moments. Meditation this is something I dont practice. Hmm. roopa what a big list of options you have to get yourselves relaxed. the last line is also the best way to relax by accepting the things the way it comes and feel everything is for good. | I am a very impatient person and i get tensed/stressed often :( When i get tensed i drink plenty of water then half of my tension is gone and then will get out of the place where i got tensed if possible outside for some fresh air and will take deep breaths. I do all these things if i understand am tensed :) otherwise i will keep on shouting at ppl around me, not a good sign but it will take some time for me to understand the situation.Nice to know abt other ppl ideas of venting out, meditation is a good practice but i do for just 2 days in a week and then forget abt it. I appreciate any advise to bring it in a regular pratice. |

| Dear svrlax, That was a good thread you have started to share our good and bad. 1)Usually i go for a walk late night with my mother since there is ample walking space in our apartment.During such times i can hardly find a couple,a girl or a boy coming for a walk.Hence the atmosphere will be damn calm and peaceful which will surely ease my tensions.Towards the end i can really find marginal difference in me. 2)Recently i am learning yoga.It is also helping me a bit.As i am just start learning, i cannot talk much on it. 3)i love listening to music.It is my all time,evergreen and favourite hobby as well as mood revitaliser.I am a die hard listener of music. You have refreshed my mind as i have shared what refreshes my mind.Generally it is energising and relaxing when we share our moments in life.Thanks dear for sharing .... BC |
