Dear Swarnalatha,

Read your post with utter dismay.Even in these holy places ..temples ..the abode of the Gods, all the narrowminded cynicism of the human being has the upper hand and we go around proclaiming that all are equal in the eyes of GOD.
We will never change these old habits it seems however much we have advanced in various fields and reached the 21st century!
The shocking thing was the way they have discovered an ingeneous way to separate the Brahmins from the Non Brahmins by giving different coloured coupons.Really demeaning to say the least. The strangest part is as you say the money of the Non Brahmin has no caste attached to it and it is accepted whole heartedly in every place in the temple.
Reading the whole episode made me feel very despondent , honestly.I can well imagine the futility of it all that you would have experienced.

warm regards
PAULINA

Swarnalata,

Gothram...eh? They even have racist feelings about the divisions in Brahmins... They consider the Madhwas a better version of Brahmins...

Too Bad you had a biter experience in a holy place Swarnalata.

No doubt these people insist on purity. But have you seen their (servers') clothes? It is so dirty that you are sure to catch some disease from them.

Oh yes, I've had bitter experience too as Non-Vaishnav Brahmins are also "Inferior". The only thing these people are doing is tarnishing the name of a great saint who believed in love for all creatures big & small.

Regards,

Corallux

Dear Friends

Thank you all, everyone of you, for reading and giving me kind comments.

I want to tell here that i am not a brahmin-hater. I have best friends who are brahmins. Even that Mami-Mama in our Yatrai were wonderful people. I wrote this matter not to condemn anybody. Only want to tell how sometimes some people's attitude can be rude. Maybe they will not even think they are doing something rude because they dont know how it feels like if on the otherside of the invisible fence.

All people born in "privileged" caste in our society will never have the kind of experiences we have sometimes. so they dont know discrimination.

I think if the Mutt people want, they can have "members only" club where only brahmins as members are allowed. It will be like other clubs with "Members Only" rules ,Then no one will say anything, no problem. But if they invite everybody for lunch and then make partiality, it is rude. It is called " Panthi Vanchanai" in tamil and it is consider bad manners.

Not getting payasam is one small , even silly matter. our society cursed by this caste division and snobbery of superior-inferior, pure-unpure, some unfortunate people even get killed because by "accident of birth" they get born as "lower" .
Greatness and superiority should be achieved by individual person's effort and not taken only by birth.

Thank you

Dear Swarnalatha,
Like you have asked "who will bell the cat?" is the question now!!

We must ensure that atleast our next generation stop thinking about these differences.
I was just wondering .........we all know that superstar Rajnikanth is a great devotee of Sri Raghavendra. So if he visits the temple, will he or will he not be served payasam?

Cheers
jayanthi

Ok atlast I am back :)

This is the true color of India, even though we can talk for hours about how India is running towards becoming super power.

These rules will be bent, you know when, yep kamalji has rightly said.. - MONEY.

If they hear superstar is visiting, they will even make sure to take him all the way upto to God, sit him beside the idol and let him have a chat. Thats what money can do. But for a normal person all these idiotic rules immediately will be followed in full faith.

I love my motherland, but not these stupid traditions and cultures that are followed.

No swarna, dont feel u are a brahmin hater.. :) You are not. You have voiced your opinion about stupidity.
