Dear rs18
So beautiful and touchy and such a sad story, we all write about the life of rich and famous but who will write about the really hardship of the life of these hard working people actually these r the one who do most of our work. Really well written feeling sorry for the little one so quickly she understood her responsiblities and now she is going to work in order to look after her brother, at such a tender small age.

Heart touching and heart wrenching story Ramya! Simply wonderful!

The FP nomination brought me here. And I am so glad that it did, otherwise I would've missed this beautiful story from you.

I was happy to note that Gowri at least had a job in a decent home to make her living from. But I could not stop myself for feeling bad that Gowri had to give up on her education. I strongly feel that if we can afford we should surely sponsor (if not full, may be part or even just a little) towards an under privileged child's education. I think there is no better gift ever than contributing towards someone's education. It is a priceless gift that lasts a lifetime.

We had a maidservant whose son went on to become an Engineer. My parents had the maid open a separate bank account and we used to deposit a small amount every month for the maid’s son’s education all the way until he became an Engineer. The maid had stopped working at our house many years ago but the contributions continued. In addition, Daddy always guided him in subjects like Math, Science, and Electronics just like he guided us, his own kids. I remembered this kid when I read your story.

Ramya, incredible story and narration for a first timer. A much deserved nomination indeed!

SS
