Kumar, for your information, there js an entire Gowli Shastra which details the outcome of a lizard falling on different parts of the body. In Delhi too there are lizards of different colours and sixes but I haven't seen a spotted one so far.

Dear Balajee, a very hilarious post. Please tell your daughter atleast it is not a scorpion. Some people have scorpions , yes Scorpions ,in our area. They are not the deadly ones, but sure enough to make me delirious. For many years, we never saw any in our home. But a few years ago, some of our neighbors were making r0om additions to their home. Because of all the soil being dug, I think the scorpions started migrating. First, I saw a baby in my bathroom and the mom on the kitchen sink. I became dumbstuck, words failed to come out of my mouth. Luckily, my son who is slightly braver than me consoled me and steered it towards the kitchen disposal and crunched it. After that, I did not sleep well till the pest control came and did a thorough job. My niece is like your daughter regarding the lizard. They had a lot of peacock feathers around their rooms upon someone's advice to ward off the lizards. Hope it is working.

After our honeymoon in Kodai, hubby decided we had to visit his sis in Tuticorin. In that October heat, we boarded the rickety bus to Tuticorin. We reached his sister's house in the afternoon. She took me around her house & in the pooja room there was this strange photo of a golden & silver lizard. I found it quite unusual. Turned out they were holy lizards from Kanchi. If a lizard fell on someone, the person had to touch that photo & there would be no probs. Well each to their own. I politely refused a copy of that photo. Felt I was better suited to throwing them out of the house rather than keeping it in. Regards, Corallux Corallux lizards are better inside the house than outside. They make a meal out of icky insects and clean up the house.

Anandchitra, it is not women's monopoly to be terrifed or repelled by a lizard. Men demand equal rights here too! But youre right Lizard is not only a harmless but a useful creature.

Yes lizards are natural insecticides. My bro used to scare us with this story of a girl who on her wedding day had a lizard stuck in her 'kondai' (hairpiece). She dint want to make a fuss and kept quiet during the ceremony. She died of the bites he said. i always wonder if the made up that story Santosh
