Dear SS,

Thankyou so much for writing in.I am so glad to get appreciation from such a wonderful writer as you.
Lovely to know that you have pledged your eyes. That your whole family has. They would benefit somebody and makes our life worth living when we are here and even when we are no more. I think we should consider it a blessing to be able to do our wee bit for the society.
I am sure you must have brought this to the notice of many of your friends and got them to pledge too.

Thanks once again SS for the lovely FB.

Love,
Devika

This topic is very close to my heart. Me and my family (parents and siblings) have pledged to donate all our organs. When I first moved to the US I did the same thing here too.

Well, on a lighter note I was wondering which country will get my organs when my time comes? Because I have pledged them in both places - in India when I was very young, in middle school. In the US after I came here as an adult! Well, as long as they are used for a good cause, no worries about who gets them.

I loved the narration.

Santosh,

Thankyou so much for visiting my post. I agree with you that Cheeniya Sir has brought things out here very well. Organ donation still needs a lot of awareness , so many lives can be given a chance to live beautifully if more people contribute .
Santosh your presence in IL is very essential to get in the humour that is almost synonymous with your name and that most of us absolutely love.... to smile at.
Thanks for the FB.

Devika

Superb Post ! The issue of donors is indeed as Cheeniya wrote, one that needs serious discussion. Over 100,000 people die every year on the roads in India (India has 1% of the vehicles in the world and 10% of the road fatalities!) So organ donation assumes mamoth proportions

Lovely touching story that brings up such an important issue

Santosh
kudos Devika. Your mind is a classic[/quote]

Hi Devika Ma'am,

The lesson this story can teach can vary from person to person. But what it taught me is God when closes one door, opens other. This is a cycle where happiness is followed by sorrow and vice versa.Neither happiness last nor do sorrow.

All the time many thoughts go on in my mind, but putting it into words is difficult for me.But you have inspired me a lot.Maybe I can atleast try to pen down my thoughts now.But reaching your calibre may take many years for me,but i can keep trying.

Keep up the good work and let it keep coming on.

Love.

Babita

Dear Devika,

Not many can make this old man cry.Im a tough nut to crack, but u brought tears to my eyes.Lovely story really.

There was a similar story long time back a movie called Dhanwan, Rajesh Khanna and Rakesh Roshan, father of Hritik Roshan, similar theme.

But u really write well.Wish some movie producer catches hold of u, and we could say proudly, see the titles of our friend Devika.that will be the day.

Regards.kamal

Dear Devika,

It is my first duty to apologise that I have come so late to this celebrated thread of yours. No wonder this thread of yours have been so repeatedly nominated for the FP of May. With just a few hours left in May 2008, I am also going to do the same thing. Yes, I am going to tell the truth. Call the finest post actually so. Call a spade, a spade.

I knew that you were a good poet. Never did I know that you were such a good story teller. A very gripping, non-intrusive narration, with the correct dose of sentiments. Your post has the message of a documentary, but sustains the readers interest as only a thriller movie can do.

I salute the story teller in you.I bow down to the love that resides in the depths of your heart, that manifests as a post like this one.

I wish they had a category for the all-time finest post of IL. If they had your post would have a place of pride there.
May you and yours be always blessed.

Love,

My Dear Sweet Sis,

Glad you liked the story.
I agree that it takes a lot of courage to be like Sanjana, to look beyond your own and think about others, but i guess she benefitted form the love of Nayana.
I had 2 choices of names Nayana and Dristi, decided on Nayana.Glad you liked it.

Thanks Dear for the lovely FB.

Love,
Devika
