Ocean of thoughts

    With my cupp-a-love (though not our filter coffee) I was blessed to be on the shores of the ocean water, taking long walks seeing sunrise early morning enjoying fresh breath of Sea air not as humid as our chennai seashore. Those long lonely lovely walks stirred these lines below.

    Deep and wide with raging waves on the shore
    Mirage of mystic Blues that eyes can't behold
    Sandy and muddy where the waves
    Strike on the land
    Still and beautiful in the middle
    Calm and peaceful at the horizon
    Reflecting glittering sunlight on the east
    Water turning into beautiful blues as the sun goes up
    Deep beautiful blue ocean holding so much secrets of life within
    Water though warm to the touch, still sending euphoric waves to the mind
    Mind aren't you the same as this big blue beautiful ocean ?

    Watching you with every thought of wave that arises on the shore
    Weeding away the bad thoughts hidden within
    Observing you walking on the shore
    To find the right spot of clear water where
    you could still see the floor as you could see deep within
    Not knowing the depth of knowledge within when on the shore
    Still enjoying the deep thoughtless trance state
    feeling to be lost in the ocean of thoughts
    With the trouble of waves hitting on the life shore
    Not knowing to swim either this life or the ocean
    Waiting to cross this ocean of mind seems a distant dream.

    wonderful poem on Oceanand thoughts :) yup, it is blessing to see sunrise, sunset and walk on shore everyday.

    Beautiful thoughts on sea shore.

    The ocean teaches you many things.
    By its vastness, it just humbles you.Waves are comaparable to thoughts. You can't do anything about it. You just watch.This is what we learn in meditation just to observe your thoughts carefully.
    Relentless ocean.Every time the waves come to kiss the shoreline, they are unceremoniously sent off. But do the waves relent? They again and again dash against the shore repeatedly teach us the greatest lesson of 'try,try try again notwith standing failures.
    The waves seem to get a pleasure not only being kissed by the shoreline but also in being pushed away giving challenges to the waves to dash again and again. The feeling that the wave is imagining merger with the shore itself is great to watch.there is joy in expectation. Once the goal is reached, happiness is felt just for the moment and our mind fixes next target.There is great happiness in " about to win situation' .I am very often reminded of Keats Ode on Grecian Urn. The painter has painted two lovers nearing each other,about to kiss and the bright expectation in their face,

    " Heard melodies are sweet;those unheard are sweeter"- the beautiful lines I remember whenever I stand on the beach..
    more than all it just resembles our life-anxieties, agonies followed by happiness and calmness.
    Kindling nostalgia.

    A beautiful thought expressed as a beautiful poem! I read it twice and enjoyed the Ocean within ourselves.

    jskls Beautiful poem.Go on swimming in the ocean of Thoughts and sure you find an Island of peace.There is a saying in Tamil "kadalilum alaikal oyivathillai .vaazkkayil prachnaikalum oyivathu illai.'Trouble make us stronger and stronger.

    @jayasala42 mam, yes I was trying to relate that moment to deep meditative state. Wonderful explanation on meditation. I can't find so many words to express. But you have explained it beautifully. Thank you
