There has been buzz on the Internet about color of this dress. Tell me what color you think this dress is. And here are some links about it perception - What color is this dress? -- And why do some see it as white and gold and others see it as black and blue? - Cognitive Sciences Stack Exchange The Science of Why No One Agrees on the Color of This Dress | WIRED I say it's white and gold
White and Gold. The men think it's blue with black lace because lets face it, how many guys actually know gold. bronze, silver laces? My DH says oh the brown flowers all over for a dress with some gold lace on it!
I have only seen white and gold, everytime. I looked at it on several phones and monitors, and all who were present see white and gold as well. I can understand the white appearing as light blue, but can't figure where the black would come from.
I see a blue dress with black lace but when I was refreshing this page a minute ago, I saw white and gold.. maybe this is a two layered picture compressed into one via Photoshop?
You are correct. The actual dress is blue/black. I first saw it as white/gold yesterday, then blue/black last night. It appears white/gold now. The explanation has something to do with how the brain processes ambient light based on its conditioning. If you are a night owl you are probably more likely to see the blue. If you are an early riser like me you might see the white/gold. Our brains expect it to be daylight so we process the image accordingly. Isn't that super cool?!
Thanks Gauri. I will have to check this image again tomorrow morning. I sleep around 11 pm and wakes up around 5 am on school days and around 7 on weekends. Not sure how to categorize myself because I only get up early with help from the alarm clock.
When I saw it looked white and golden for me and I was wondering how on earth does it looks blue and black .Asked my DH what color do u see, he says blue and black:notthatway:
