Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

Every relationship starts with a smile, some stay for long, some are out of sight, out of mind and some relationship continue till the end. For some people to give a smile also they think a lot asif the have to pay something fo rthat. But for some smile comes naturally anytime . I was also given a nice autograph from our Vice President saying Most liked by all and eversmiling and that gave me encouragement and always feel young at heart and keep smiling whenever necessary. With some people I am scared to give a smile thinking whether they will reciprocate or not but some when they give a smile I am ready to give it back and make friends with them

We meet so many people in our lives either while going in a train or a bus or even at the clinics. Actually is it nice to travel by train rather than travelling by Air, because in train people are friendly and talk to each other but while travelling by air all are glued to their seats and none makes attempt to talk to the other person. So I feel boring travelling by air, though I dont get much opportunities. I never thought we will get an opportunity to travel by air but we were fortunate when our dil's parents booked by air for us for my son and dil's reception. That was our first experience at the age of sixty two , then we got a chance to go to Calicut as my husband was not well we were forced to travel by air and then we got a chanc eto travel by air to Dubai three, four times.

Since July I am on treatment for vericose veins and meet so many people at the clinic. I feel I am better not only by the medicines given by the Doctor but also because of his friendly nature and the concern he has for me. Since we meet once a week there also some have become friends. Todayalso one lady was sitting by my side , seeing her I thought she is a hi fi person . I had taken a prayer book to read so I was engrossed in that. She only started the conversation saying it is taking so long I have to go also to the town. After sometime she was asking whether I am a tamilian and whether I have studied in tamil. I told her I have studied in English in Rosary Convent. Then she started talking about some serial in Hindi where they show two families one about tamilians their culture etc. and that she learnt some tamil words too. We started talking for sometime but then her number came and she had to go and after her was my number . I asked her whether she is in facebook for which she said not and tht she is in whatsapp and told me also to download so that we can keep in touch. Later only I came to know she is an allopathic Doctor and we had come to Homeopathic Doctor.
Then it was time her to leave .

In IL we have not seen many people but we have become so friendlybecause ofthe writings. So through writings also we can become friends, there are so many pen friendswho become very friendly and some get married also . Its the heart that connect each other and become close

Smile a while and while you smile another smiles
and soon there is miles and miles of smiles

A smile needs no investment but pays large interest

When I look out at the people and they look at me and they're smiling, then I know that I'm loved. That is the time when I have no worries, no problems.

Re: Smile a while and while you smile another smiles and soon there is miles of smile

    Dear Viji,
Your snippet brought smiles and smiles.Very nice presentation. The Goddess is hailed as 'prasanna vadanaa or prahasa vadanaa.

Smiles are contagious, that is why everyone loves babies for their innocent smiles.Mother Theresa spoke much about what smiles could achieve in life.

In olden days, teeth were intended to be closed to convey approval, compassion etc. Parting of teeth denoted terror and aggressiveness.
But as civilization advanced the second one got approved and got the designation as 'smile'

There is a difference between real smile and fake smile. In fake smile only the muscles of the mouth have movements, but in real smile, eye muscles also shrink to denote the depth of emotions.

This I did not know until I met a patient in Sankar Nethralaya ,the patient had some major disorder with eye muscles. Everyone used to call him as 'ummana moonji' since he could not express his happiness even at the most joyful event. This made him to go to a dentist first and then to eye specialist.

Some people who have some crooked teeth hesitate to smile for fear of teeth being exposed. A heartful appreciation is needed at times notwithstanding exposure of a terrible teething.

As smiles relieve stress and tension, there are 'learn smile' classes today in many cities just like yoga classes.

It is very easy to smile; But it is a great torture for medicos to learn the names of tens and tens of facial, cranial and oral muscles which are involved in a simple operation of'smile'

Mahatma Gandhi's toothless smile was more attractive than the artificial smiles of Bollywood stars.

From early days, even now young girls are warned to keep their smiles in reserve, since on many occasions 'smiles' do more harm than good.

My servant maid smiles always. She would smile even at distress, even if she is abused or accused by someone .It is her nature.Just like 'laughing Buddha' ,she is our'laughing valli'with open smiles even during sad occasions.

    Thanks Viji for motivation.
