Dear Lalitha,

Thanks a ton for writing in!! Women are definitely the stronger of the sexes .
I am very proud of all women .I have seen the immense strength that women possess . They have the capability to achieve what they have set out to and I feel that If they can be a coy bride they can also be a fierce warrior!!
Happy Mothers Day to you too !!

Love,
Devika

Without a life partner at a very young age is so difficult but even in that crisis your mother stood up as a strong lady in advising you and carrying on with life. Hats off to your mom, she is really very strong. Seeing so many tributes on Mother's day it has reinforced my thinking Women are the strongest of the sexes.

A Happy Mothers Day to you and your mom.

Dear Poorni,

Thanks a ton dear for your wishes!

I always have been of the opinion that my sorrows are for me to handle , If I werent capable of handling them God wouldnt give it to me in the first place!
I feel that it is very important to live your life according to the way you feel satisfied,If you think the world rules you, then its because youve let them! I never approved of the rule so the bindi stayed on!

Happy Mothers Day to you!!

Love,
Devika

Mothers are indeed such special people in our lives. I liked the lesson you mom told you.."never tell your troubles to others, no one is interested" this is true.

And as a good daughter, you have done a great deed by letting her have her sindhoor...nothing can give a lady more charm than the sindoor. I am sure she must be a proud Mom who has such a wonderful and thoughtful daughter.

Happy Mothers Day

Regards
Poornima.

Dear Sathya,

Thanks for visiting in here!
My Mother is my idol and someone I respect immensely like all others do, and its as you grow and understand more about the world you realise the tribulations she underwent and with each realisation the respect, honour and devotion multiplies.
As far as the bindi was concerned my logic was that the bindi was on her forehead before my Dad came its not entirely a marital sign unlike the mangalsutra or wedding ring so I thought it perfectly all right to adorn her head with it. My thoughts need not necessarily be in sync with anothers ,I did what i felt best for my Mother and at that point of time that seemed enough logic!

Happy Mothers Day,

Love,
Devika

I hope you do write a few lines for the contest of the Month on this very same subject. Given your way with words, you can surely come up with a very interesting piece.

Dear Malathi,

Every time , I remember that day,I fell its a miracle we reached here today and then I realise the miracle was my Mother , her strength , her determination and her never say die attitude. Infact there were a lot of so called relatives asking her to wind up Dads business ,pack bags and move to native, but she stood her stand that she would let my Dad live through her , and ran the business though initally she had no idea about it. Its pure belief in herself ! During those times the advice was just an advice but then at each stage it preceeded me, cautioning me ,encouraging me!! Thank you so much for the wonderful appreciation Malathi!!

Devika

Dear Gayathri,
I cant even begin to tell you how very shattered I was when Dad expired .I was a Papas pet and wondered whether this was one of my Dads pranks and now he would get up and make us all laugh but..

It is extreme courage on my Mothers part to resurrect her life, that helped us all sail through. We maintained the same clients and Mother marevellously managed to deliver the same satisfaction to our clients as my Father once did .

Yes experiences wisened her early and her advices helped me achieve whatever targets I set for myself in life. I absolutely admire her belief in herself in this male dominated society where then it was very difficult to make a mark as a woman.
I am sure Gayathri you would be a very good Mom! Thankyou so much for your wishes and please accept my wishes for a great Mothers Day to your Mother and you!!

Love,
Devika

That was a very touching memoir. I am extremely sorry about the demise of your father when you ( and your mom ) were young. The words of wisdom from your mom at such a turbulent time after she lost her husband untimely with little kids to take care of is amazing... You are really lucky to have such a wise and loving mom. I just had to hold back tears while reading it.

I too treasure my mother's advices. I still look upto her for strength, courage, inspiration and patience. I would consider my kid(s) extremely lucky if I can be half the mom she was to us...Happy mother's day to you and all mothers...!

-Gayathri.

Dear Kamalji,

Thanks for writing in!! I am absolutely proud of Mother. We always grow up under the care of our parents and they more often than not end up being our role model. I was very lucky to be able to watch my Mother very closely during her acts of patience, determination and immense confidence and do try to inculcate them in my own life whenever the need arises!
It is a fact that very often people do not have time for your woes each are so much with his or her own existence that you are secondary to them and even if they happen to listen to you most of them are very glad youre in problems. I try not to share my troubles with others . I feel its better if it is within the four walls of my heart or at the most within the walls of my house.
Thanks a ton for the wishes!

Regards,
Devika
