Atrocious - Babies thrown off tower in India

Ladies,
I still reeling from the shock of the video of babies being thrown off a tower in Maharashtra. The babies were being thrown for good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The video shows the babies being dropped one-by-one onto a stretched cloth (of some sorts). A man is catching the babies after the first bounce (!!!!!!!!).
The video shows lots of men, women and children... a sort of mela atmosphere.
The women are holding toddlers and calmly watching this spectacle.

I wonder if these babies will not suffer long term effects of being bounced like that.

The video speaks volumes about the ignorance and superstitions that a lack of education brings about!!!

I am appalled.

i saw that on BBC, really atrocious....god knows when these people get some sense in their heads...i was worried too abt the effects of this foolish bouncing on those tender babies' bodies....i feel as it is they rough handle babies in india...on top of that this bouncing festival also....

Yup! In India....
Well it should not be too much of a surprise in a country where female infanticide is quite common among other crimes....

Seeing the video is terribly unsettling. Now that I have a 16 month old son, everytime I see such incidents I have a crazy tendency to picture my self or my baby in the situation...a very bad idea!
