| Dear supriya While readng your post I was reminded of two incidents that happened in my lfe after marriageofcourse. My husband is a stcler for time.Punctuality runs n his bloodeven now though he is a retired person now. It was in 1974/75 my two daughters were very young. My husband rang me up from office in the evenng and told meI will be home by 6 ocloc, you should be ready wth the chldren. am going to Mr.Subramaniams house,I wll take you people also .NowMr.Subramaniams daughtersagain two of them and my daughters were of the same agethey were close friends.Similarly Mrs.Subramaniam and I got along very well.So I old my husband excitedly,"yes,we will be ready. We got ready by 6.10.My husband came home at 6 o'clock and gave a horn. When we were not ready by that time he left for their house without us.He had some official work to do with him.We were so diasappointed ,particularly the kids.Later on coming to know from my husband how he left us at home,Mrs Subramaniam sent her car and driver and picked us up.Thats a different story. On another occasion,my husband's colleague was getting married The reception was at 6.30 in the evening, thats what the invitation card said.We were there at the mandapam promtptly at 6.30.Even the chairs had not arrived. The cooks had just then arrived and lighting people looked at us and laughed. We went out did some shopping and then returned in time to attend the reception. I make a dig at my husband quoting this incident even now. mithila kannan "

| Dear Supriya Very interesting thread.. Count me in the category of telling I'll be ready in 5 mins but.. dare I say Never ever ready in 5mins. I live with 2 members of the opposite sex that being beloved hubby and sweet child. They both are stickler to punctuality(the spelling even I dont know) They are always always ready in 5mins or less start to end. Me "will say 5mins" and disappear. never ever can i be ready in 5mins. since we have been married now for 24 years hubby knows me better. so sometimes he gets ready AFTer I appear or he gets ready and keeps himself occupied. Only once in all these years did he ask me why do you take so much time. I got so offended that I refused to go out that evening. he had to cajoleme to o.k. But they always wait and once I am ready they like to comment that I look nice:) (They better comment that way bec any other comment would make them wait 1more hour longer:) ![]() |

| Hi, I am a fast person, can be ready in 15 minutes flat. I get ready the last for an outing. After making read everything and sending off every one down, I get ready and am down by the time hubby gets the car ready. I finish my light makeup and hair inside the car itself, that too 10 minutes before we arrive at the destination. Howzzat? I have a childhood friend and when we used to go out, I would reach her home in time. What do I see, she will be massaging her face with coconut oil just then. After my shriek, she will head to wash it off with besan. Then would start the application of eye liner, then sketching the eyebrows and so on. It will take altogether 40 minutes for her to get ready. this used to happen always. I do not know what she is doing now, being a mother of two boys and working too.
