Default Food Tsunami

I read in the papers today that UN has warned there could be food tsunami and that it would affect 100 million people.UN has warned that 82 countries including China face food emergencies as stockpiles of wheat drop to the lowest level since 1980 sufficient to feed the world for just 12 weeks.Food prices are at record highs and oil prices have doubled. The biggest challenge for UN in its 45 year history.God help our world and let the world come together in tiding over this crisis as it did when the real tsunami happened in 2004.God help our world...........

Yes, the food crisis is looming large. The prices are soaring...and i always wonder how the people having a monthly income of Rs.5000/- or less making 2 ends meet.

We are lucky that atleast getting 2 square meals a day.

Thanks for bringing this into our notice,
scary indeed, Kanaka.

we should consider ourselves lucky and should not waste food and help others who are in need...'dhanam is great but one of the most important is 'annadhanam'...shall try from our side...

We should pray God that 'food tsunami' doesn't happen at all., it must be only in the dictionary...

Thanks for sharing this info..
Its really scary that we don't have enough food supplies.
I hope everybody should not waste the food and should share with poor people.

Regards.

It is an alarming situation and I am sure is due mainly due to hoarding of food by vested interests to hike the prices. I hope their nefarious design is defeated.
