Arrow My friend has been saved from a fryng pan

This morning I got a news. Hearing that what a relief!

A cute young girl. Completed her MBA soon after BE. She got employed in a good firm. Last year when we visited her parents the mother was much thrilled about the alliance. She also mentioned one has to go along with the tide. Ofcourse it was meant to be an indirect hint to both of us..

We had avoided many of the extravaganza of a typical iyer wedding for our daughter. But we had been conventional to the extent the bridegroom wanted.

Iam not a person who can be bullied by societal pressure. As long as it doesn't harm the society I do what is right for me.
The day we visited the family even the hall had been booked. Since the mother believed in keeping up the status they had chosen a hall which would suit their purpose.(Fraility thy name is woman). We didn't receive any invitation.
Though we didn't receive any invitation it didn't bother us since the girl's father is extremely a close friend of my husband. This happened an year ago..

This morning my husband called him to say hello. Then the friend mentioned about the alliance. It seems soon after the marriage was fixed the demand started increasing. First of all the boy wanted the girl to leave the job. Accordingly she left the job. It seems he had his own ideas about the place the girl should be working!

Now comes the funny thing. One day the boy happened to call her on her mobile. While talkind he enquired from where she was speaking. The girl innocently said"from a tailoring shop." Now he wanted to know who has taken her measurement? This annoyed the girl She came home and said "Enough is enough. No more of this nonsense." and the marriage was cancelled.
Now the girl is working in Mumbai. paid well. Iam sure she will get a good husband. Iam happy my friend got saved from marrying a suspicious mentally sick person.
These days fixing marriages seem to be very scary.
I call her as my friend though she is of my daughter's age. kanaka

Dear Kanaka,

Thank God youre friend got saved at the nick of time otherwise her life would have been a living hell.
Many a times I have seen couples enjoying the possessiveness of their partner. You know it gives them a false sense of eternal love , but later on this very trait becomes the noose around their neck stifling the relationship. I am very glad youre friend is scot free and am sure she would definitely find a more humane person to marry!

Love,
Devika

Hi kananka,

thank god, she's saved... it's better late than never...
I too passed such a phase in my life. When there was just 4 days left for my engagement, my parents were called by the guy's parents & demanded heavy dowry.
My father politely told them that "we would call off the engagement"
Now, I'm happily married to a very matured & decent person

Kanaka,
Thank God, glad to hear such things because the life won't be good for those couples having skeptical thoughts about the other. It will be a miserable life..
Your friend's good karma made this happen to her....wish her well in the coming days ahead.,,

Hi Kanaka,

Thank God!

She's saved before she got wedlocked.

Possessiveness should also be there for each other, but only to a tolerable extent.

May God bless her!

Lakshmi.

Dear Kanaka,

Thank God that your friend has been saved !

These kind of suspicions mar the marriage. Good this came to light before the wedlock.
