My Take on GOD

Do I believe in existence of GOD? Yes I do

Now what is GOD according to me?

I am a person of Electronics and I would certainly like to put forward my point in a scientific way. Everyone knows "Energy can neither be created nor can it be destroyed". It can merely be transformed from one form to another. This energy transformation is responsible for whole gamut of activities in this entire universe. It is this energy that decides the birth and death of a star. Its this energy which decides whether the star would transform into black hole or awhite dwarf. Its this energy that decides the number of planets revolving around a particular star.

No one can deny that its the ENERGY that controls all the activities going on in this universe. For me this ENERGY is GOD. The people who derive this energy from within are Athiest and Hats off to them as they are able to derive sterngth from within and the people who have to give some form to this energy are Thiests.

Now the question arises, why should we give a form to isENERGY. Again my explanation would be that to explain the physical behaviour of a system, one need a model. There are numerous models to predict the approximate behaviour of a system. In the same way , giving form (Idol) is a way of representing this energy source, it might not be an accurate model but its one's perception. Since, the superior most race known to human beings is the the human being itself, so in giving the form to the energy, he/she visualised it as a most beautiful woman in form of durga or the most handsome man, in form of Krishna, Rama etc. These idols may not be energy themselves but are the symbols given by human as a representation of that energy which is always present.
I don't believe in rituals, but as a woman, do you think we women have many choices? As daughter-in-laws and wives, we are not suppose to question the faith of our husbands or in-laws, but just to adapt to their faiths and beliefs. One has to do many things for the peace at home, how so ever illogical they may seem. Anyway, this is my take on GOD.

I do have strong belief in god.BUt i don't go to temples daily or do elaborate poojas daily at home.BUt i feel his presence very close.My dh got transferred to madurai(imm.after our marriage) and i had to go to madurai.he was working in sales and he had to travel a lot(more outstation calls).Our house was a big independant corner house.
So stayed alone atleast 10 days in a month.
I was staying alone without any fear.This was possible because of my belief in god.I strongly believe god is always with me.I do everything what my conscience tells me.i have a strong belief that god will always save me from any danger.even if we don't pray to him,he will help us.
i go to temples as i get some peace of mind there , not to pray to god to give that and this.Temples are full of positive energy so it refreshes our mind and body.When we see the idols we get some mental relief.
i see god as single power which directs us on our path.we worship that power as krishna,shiva,ganesha,muruga,lakshmi.............. ....It gives us energy to do our duty. so nothing wrong in idol worship.

Dear ansh ,
This is certainly a very interesting topic for me .Because my views are just same as yours.I Do believe in GOD as a power and energy but i dont really follow the customs and rituals which are followed .For me, humanity is more than any other belief.Following the message of humanity is the true worship to GOD.
What is the use of visiting the temples,chanting the mantras all the time when you NEGLECT the true spirit ?
Sometimes it really hurts to see when the people in the name of almighty destroy the peace and harmony in the society through their inhuman acts.
Yes ,everyone have got their own ways of showing their respects to god.All these rituals are a part of it.There shouldnt be any force in following them.Un fortunately it is not so.Those who dont follow these are considered as the arrogant and the sinful.The situation is more worse for the women.They are supposed to be "PERFECT'".My husband believes strongly and sincerely follows the daily rituals ,missing them he doesnt have peace.He never criticizes me for not following.And even i dont argue over what i feel illogical. It should be left to our own interest afterall everyone have their own insight of seeing things.So finally i would say it doesnt matter if you idol worship or not when the message is followed.Well ,these all are my own thoughts not meant to hurt any others feelings or believes.
