| Thoughts are right here!! It is true that there si no action being taken against this. I am sure, a remedy wont be to remove tham al together, but to ban smokin and gutkha atleast in public. I wish tea shops can jus be decent places to hang out, probably have a chat. Since this concept of coffees hops is hit, why not try a more desi economic version of tea kadais?

| As long as it is not public nuisance I ilke it. It should be hygenic. I appreciate the 'ghaddos' than the snobbish coffe Day where the present day youth hang on for hours together at their parent's cost In kerala I like those parippu vadai shops with hot filter coffee. Nice. With small investments somebody finds a livelihod. In Mumbai I know people who sell eats in the ghaddos. Actually it is a family affair. Till the husband takes over the lady of the house or children run the show. I personally know one family in Goa- The couple work for a bank. Till the parents come back children(2boys and 2girls) take turns. Once the parents come they get ready for the next day. By 11pm the shop is closed. All of them go home. Mother cooks, children make the rooms tidy and by12pm they have a 4course dinner . None of them are tired or make any compromise in cooking. The wife remains neat forever. Believe me one of the daughters was doing PHD when we left the Quarters! GREAT! Good thread. kanaka |

| Hi Kanak, What you mentioned about Goa is decent stuff, family run stuff. Here in Chennai decency is scant in the tea shops. Just like TASMAC shops. In Bangalore there are bars and pub where women go and drink. In Chennai no woman can enter the TASMAC wine shops!! The whole appearance is bad unappealing and indecent.
