HI Mithila!!!

I am stumped by your titles, subtle humour in narration and the precision in which you tell them(without beating around the bush) and most importantly the length of your snippets - just right enough to provide light reading. All the three (I dont know if I missed any of your earlier ones) , were extremely entertaining and took us back to visualise the 'era' which we were not lucky enough to witness in person!

When you spoke about bank job, I remember what my granny keeps telling me(probably about zillion times:)) how my grandad was a 'great engineer' with Rs 100 a month salary when they got married and about how gold cost was Rs 18 per soverign and so on and so forth! Just find them too good to be true! :)

Fun Mithila, please do keep posting these humourous incidents from the golden era! We throughly enjoy them!

Regards,
Purnima

Dear Mithila maam,

Beautiful piece. I have been following all your kalyana vaibhongal and loved it very much. Honestly I am not flattering you but you have a way with your words. I feel you should take your writings very seriously. There is a magic in your hands weaving small incidents so beautifully.

Great writing !!! Keep more coming.

Dear Lalitha,
Thank you for those kind words of appreciation.Very often I go to my own world and live among characters I love, much to the irritation of my daughters.Sometimes they have to repeat what they said to me just then because I would have been in my favourite world.I like to write, weave stories, gives me tremendous joy.
Thanks a lot.

Dear Purnima,
Thank you for the generous compliments.I am humbled by your kind words.
Yes,those were the days.During the world warII,my father who was posted in Rangoon used tosend money to my mother I believe. My mother after running the fly with four kids could save money to buy gold ornaments and silver for my eldest sister whose marriage they celebrated in style.
