Mithila,
waited till the end of the narration to know how the appalam changed the scenario for once....
very well explained the groom and the bride's side and also enjoyed the description relating the 'structure' of sambandhi and that of the head cook..

Pen and paper, a nice one.
i think it..will help us to jot down the words that others 'tongue-slipped' during the height of a heated arguement...and start one more 'heated arguement'....

Very interesting, Mithila.

When I began to read your post, I was sitting with my back well rested on the chair. As I proceeded further, I kept moving in front and by the time I finished reading, I was at the edge of the chair. Besh, besh, romba interesting events and very well presented.

I think, I am missing so many good things, by not stepping into IL for a long time. This is one such. Mythila maami, I am not as old as you, but I have been attending lots of marriage, as I have a large cousin group and have 5 uncles. Have seen Sambandhi sandais in many of our relatives marriages. Sandais that comes out just because of nothing.

Reading the Sambandhi sandai, reminded me of the Washingtonil Thirumanam.
