It is indeed awesome that the post of a newcomer has generated such stupendous interest among ILites! To tell you the truth, most of us had to toil very hard to reach where you are with your very first offering! Kindly accept my hearty congratulations and may your association with IL prove beneficial to both!

Coming to Karuppu Balu, the very first lines proved why you have become such hot stuff among ILites. You have a racy and natural style that is quite similar to RK Narayan's. What makes it immensely appealing is its native charm and a simple language that does not make people run for dictionaries. Every character is so alive including the carrom players! Karuppu Balu may have had an ordinary life but you have made it extraordinary with your skillful narration.

Dear Mithila,
That was great a post about K Balu, P thogayal. But what really took the cake was Balu asking his would be then if she knew to make the thogayal. The way you had narrated made me think of our neighbour 's frind Sundaresan who became 'thani mama' all thanks to me. Whenver I used to be there he will call me as soon as he comes in and say thani konda di Janani.He would be embarassed to death when I kept calling him by that name.
