Dear Punitha,

Thanx for peeping in. You rightly said
Quote:
Kids learn most of the things from parents. Until unless we practice, they are not going to learn.
That was aptly said. thanx.

Dear Passionate,

Thanx for stepping in.

I cannot stop smiling, he may actually use this selfishness to push his mother out of his life!
I also couldn't help smiling.........but on serious thought this is how we are spoiling the kids. We ourselves are damn selfish and we expect our children to become Mahatamas.........Is it right? Agreed in today's world survival of the fittest is the main motto but that should not happen without basic consideration to others. I wonder if the same continues and everybody turns out to be selfish, how will be the world to live?

Dear LS,

Good Question....

I will just quote one example... I know a family, where they teach their son to be selfish, to survive in this materialistic, competitive world... They have their own logics and reasonings... Though I couldnt digest it or accept it... It is their way of looking at things...

Lalitha:

Surely such instances are very common in B'lore's buses. Although I've not been using them of late. But surely know the pain of travelling in B'lore during peak hours.

Commuter ethics must be promoted. Buses n bus stands should have pictures and even television and radio should air them. Often if kids are taught these manners they themselves behave or correct their parents.

Dear Nikhath,

Your suggestions are really very valuable but I am not sure whether our politicians will think on the same way.

Thanks for coming in.

[quote=ANK;270441]Hi Lalitha,

, he touches elders feet when we go to India, even here.

Dear Ank.....
Its such a humble gesture by your son to respect elders.....
This reminded me of one funny incident. During my last India trip, one of our cousin sis and her 3 yr daughter accompanied us. Cousin is very strict abt following our tradition, even her kid will call us Masi and Mausa not uncle and aunty...(only to Indian relatives, of course). So, when she reached India as per the teaching she started touching the feet of all elders......probably she enjoyed that......while coming back, at Delhi Airport, we were very busy in checking in our lauggage and she started touching feet of all the security......who ever see saw......everybody were like...OMG.......such a sweet kid......then when we landed she started this again and touched her frds (she made in the flight) and her parents feet.....they were so amazed.....
I really feel so good ......and my cousin never asked her to do so....she was spontaneous.......even while seeing us off.she did the same........
Regards......

Hi Meeta,

That was quite hillarious, yet so sweet! I luv such kids! I know of people who think we live in a big bad world, so there is no need of being so nice, they have told me so, when I asked my son to make way for some one older than him, to sit, (he was busy playing and did not realise, and during such times, I usually make it a point to remind him!). Their reasoning was, it is ok, all should adjust (they never make their daughter get up even if they see elders standing, and she never greets anyone). But I made it very clear that I expect kids to be respectful to elders in such little ways. A smile, a Hello, or a hug go a long way, at least for me!
